This 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL600 is finished in Black (040) over a Black Nappa Leather (511) interior and is reportedly one of as few as 15 and as many as 44 units produced for the 1999 model year. This C140 was purchased new in Southern California where it remained through 2021 when the current owner acquired the car and brought it to Pennsylvania. This final-year coupe is powered by a 6.0L M120 V12 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include Adaptive Damping System active suspension, heated multi-contour front seats, automatic climate control with rear-cabin controls, a Bose sound system with a six-disc CD changer, and xenon headlamps. Recent services include an oil change, new serpentine belt, transmission service, brake flush, coolant flush, new radiator, and new heater core valve. This CL600 is now offered by the seller with recent service, one key, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) and features color-matched lower body cladding. Additional exterior features include xenon headlamps, lower fog lamps, headlight wipers, a sunroof, a power antenna, and power-folding mirrors. The front bumper shows some fading and scratches along with some rock chips on the nose of the car. Detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery. The sunroof is noted as inoperable.
Standard OEM 16″ alloy wheels wear Michelin tires measuring 235/60 and showing 2022 date codes. The wheels show some clear coat failure and curb rash. The car is equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s Adaptive Damping System active suspension.
The interior is trimmed in two-tone Black Nappa Leather (511) on the seats featuring Grey leather inserts, matching door panels, and carpets. Burled wood veneer accents the dashboard, center console, steering wheel, and door panels. An aftermarket Brabus shift knob is shown. The CL600 features a double stitched leather dash, door cards, and steering wheel. Additional amenities include front automatic dual-zone climate control, heated multi-contour front seats, rear power headrests, an electric sunroof, a Bose sound system with a six-disc CD changer, a console-mounted cellular phone, and a rear window shade. The seller notes the sunroof as inoperable along with soft close and the right heated seat button is pushed into the center console.
The leather and wood-trimmed steering wheel frames an instrument cluster that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer that shows 101k miles. An intermittent check engine light illuminates as a result of a faulty O2 sensor according to the seller.
The 6.0L V12 was factory rated at 389 horsepower which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Recent services include the following under the current owner's care:
The included Carfax report shows linear mileage reports since new and a clean history. This CL600 is now offered by the seller with recent service, one key, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The seller has provided a walk around video.
On the brink of the auto industry migrating away from high displacement and naturally aspirated power plants, the M120 V12-powered Mercedes from the 90’s remain flagships against even the newest iteration of the S-Class and other modern luxury options. We’re marginally accustomed to seeing late model V12 C140’s but 1999 models are few and far between. There's general debate over production numbers with sources stating between 15 and 44 examples for the U.S. market and while this example does show some wear, there's no debating the rarity of this car and increasingly tough opportunity to replicate it. For those looking at driver-quality specs, this deserves attention.

Just wondering if anyone is still interested in the CL600. It's still for sale.
I could let go for $13K if anyone is interested in the CL
Looks like a project, but would be worth it. Still a strong final bid for what it looks like.
The reserve has not met .

No issues with Engine wiring harness. That was pre 95 that had Biodegradable wiring harness.
How is the engine wiring harness?
The Rear Windows does go down. I forgot to add it.
I am going to be super embarrassed if my answer to this question is: "the rear windows do not go down on this pillarless coupe" but I would not be able to sleep tonight if I didn't.... Why are there no pictures of the rear windows in the down position?
I still have the Giovanna 20" Chrome Wheels on brand new Michelin AS4 for sale.
Beautiful example. I have a beautiful correct set of AMG monoblocks for the winner.
I had Giovanna 20" Chrome Wheels. When I swapped the 16" OEM wheels the shop just had 5 aftermarket Lug nuts for each wheels. Didn't get a chance to get Original Lug nuts from MB
Why is one lug nut missing from each wheel?

It rides fine . Not Bumpy or anything. Ortho does work
Badges may very well still be available from Mercedes. It's going to need all new suspension rubber by now, what I could see is pretty well shot. Are the ortho seats still working?
Monoblocks are the way to go with W140's
Nice to see a real 99' for sale. A worthy project to enjoy and restore as needed. I own a 1999 CL600 and just finished a some light body work and full paint-job as well as some other light repairs. Monoblocs with Michelins next week. These are really special cars and worth saving.
Same here. That what I thought so too. These were made in 1998.
My understanding is there were fifteen CL600 coupes and fourteen S600 sedans built for the 1999 model year.
They were all removed when I bought the vehicle . The seller didn't like badges on his vehicle.
Someone call the police, all the badges were stolen, haha. Any chance you have them or know why they were all removed?
