This 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL600 is finished in Glacier White (143) over Mushroom Leather (515) interior and is reportedly one of as few as 15 and as many as 44 units produced for the 1999 model year. This C140 was purchased new through Mercedes-Benz of Chattanooga, Tennessee in May 1998 and now shows four owners on the included Carfax report. The fourth and current owner purchased the car in July 2020 and it now shows 110k miles. This final-year coupe is powered by a 6.0L M120 V12 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include Adaptive Damping System active suspension, heated multi-contour front seats, automatic climate control with rear-cabin controls, a Bose sound system with a six-disc CD changer, and xenon headlamps. Significant dealer services are listed below and include an oil change, new radiator and accompanying hoses, a new battery, both rear suspension accumulators, and much more. This CL600 is now offered by the seller with recent service, one key, factory literature, a recent Carfax report, and a rebuilt Pennsylvania title.
The exterior is finished in Glacier White (143) and features color-matched lower body cladding. Additional exterior features include xenon headlamps, lower fog lamps, headlight wipers, a sunroof, a power antenna, and power-folding mirrors. This CL shows a rebuilt title from non-collision damage incurred in early 2013. Detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery.
Optional OEM 18″ Eltanin alloy wheels received fresh Continental tires in 2021 measuring 255/45 and showing 2021 date codes. The wheels appear free of major curb rash or other defects. The car is equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s Adaptive Damping System active suspension and sits level in the included photos. The front left sway bar link and left rear strut were recently replaced.
The interior is trimmed in two-tome Mushroom Leather (515) seats featuring Beige leather inserts, matching door panels, and carpets. Burled wood veneer accents the dashboard, center console, shift knob, steering wheel, and door panels. The CL600 features a double stitched leather dash, door cards, and steering wheel. Additional amenities include front automatic dual-zone climate control, heated multi-contour front seats, rear power headrests, an electric sunroof, a Bose sound system with a six-disc CD changer, a console-mounted cellular phone, and a rear window shade. Original carpeted floor mats are missing and the left door soft close and passenger rear headrest drop are reportedly inactive. The blower motor was replaced at the dealer in 2023.
The leather and wood-trimmed steering wheel frames an instrument cluster that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer that shows 110k miles.
The 6.0L V12 was factory rated at 389 horsepower which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. This example includes a Carfax showing 52 various service records since new with recent work including an oil change, new radiator and accompanying hoses, a new battery, both rear suspension accumulators, a front left sway bar link, a new antenna motor, transmission shifter bushing, left front door latch assembly, an engine hood release cable, new ignition coils, an intake manifold gasket, oil level sender, oil pan, a valve cover gasket, oil pan, intake pipe housing, cylinder head front covers, a new water pump, new O2 sensors, a right catalytic converter, a transmission pilot bushing, and a new third brake light.

Congrats
@Boatymcboatface exactly! 140 and 124 chassis benzes are from different world ! And yes, title status is bad along with the mileage but it was in great shape! I’m going to miss for sure
Well bought overall. Title status probably scared some. These are really impressive and the last of the best when Mercedes truly lived up to "The Best or Nothing" motto.
Congrats!

@edwardsgw sounds good, will email you the pictures then. I highly doubt it, transmission pilot bushing service was-as I remember- fairly cheap I don’t think they had to move the motor
My email is [email protected]. Concerned that the left (driver's side) motor mount is collapsed since the motor looks low on the driver's side. I would assume that the engine was removed for the transmission pilot bushing replacement - were motor mounts replaced then?
@edwardsgw PA title states ‘reconstructed’ that’s how they word in here. Where can I send you the pictures from ? The vehicle was at the Euromotor cars of Devon just a week ago for a check-up and they haven’t noticed a thing, you know they’d never miss the chance of making $ :) just let me know where can I send the detailed pictures to you, I have the car sitting at home will send you whatever is needed
I’ll have to ask my local title folks about what Georgia requires, but just to be clear, does the PA title say rebuilt or reconstructed? Also I don’t see motor mounts on your list and the engine looks like it’s a little low on the driver side like it’s slightly tilted that way. Haven’t seen that before.
@KingKitty had no idea about the FL process. Here in PA we do have somewhat similar process, vehicle involves in an accident and becomes a ‘salvage certified vehicle’ after the rebuild process been done, vehicle goes to an independent shops that inspect the vehicle (take the pictures of the body etc.) and provide an inspection report that required by Penndot to be able to get ‘reconstructed’ title and issue a plate. Let me know if I can do anything on my end, PA requires a state safety/emission inspection every year, and never had a problem passing any of the inspections under my ownership.
@Drkkrkn Just to provide some clarity, a "reconstructed" title means there was some major work performed to make the car legal and safe to drive on public roads. It typically requires some sort of inspection by the state or a licensed authority deemed approved by the state. "Rebuilt" is a similar term, but states differ in their definitions, however, for the most part, the terms are interchangeable. In Florida, where I am directly familiar with the definition, having owned at least two "reconstructed" (now "rebuilt") Mercedes, a state inspector must inspect a vehicle so described before a certificate of title can be issued. There is an inspection tag that is attached to the front of the "A" pillar/driver's door area that clearly identifies the car as a rebuilt vehicle as well. I never had to do pictures, and one of the cars was from out of state, but both were purchased about 10 years ago.
@pgcolo69 yup that’s what happened, I did send the submission form with the 114,100 miles but mbmarket might’ve missed it, carfax clearly states the -close to- current mileage anyway since all the services are performed by Mercedes dealership. I have nothing but pages and pages long of service records :)
@Vizcaya there’s no conspiracy theories there :) I bought the vehicle with 103k miles and listed on mbmarket with a $14k floor-obviously it didn’t meet the floor- when it had 109k. It didn’t meet reserve and I kept driving it, now the vehicle has 114k miles which is the way that I submitted to mbmarket not sure why they listed with a different mileage. I purchased the vehicle from a private seller for a great price -it was listed on ebay- back in 2020. I addressed everything that I could (as long as the parts were continued) the vehicle has been serviced by Euromotor cars of Devon (a local Mercedes dealership) under my ownership so as my other benzes and has a PA state inspection performed by them. Let me know if I can provide you any other necessary information that’d make you comfortable bidding on it
@Galene I purchased the vehicle with broken front bumper and passenger headlight wasn’t HID (but not sure if that was the damage from 2013 or some unrecorded accident between the 2013-2020 by previous owner)
@Vizcaya he had it on here before with a reserve and it bid to $12k, then recently re-listed the car with no reserve. The 109k is pic from prior listing..
Seller post a pic that shows 109K miles, then a video showing 114K miles? Oh, and we don't know why the title was reconstructed? I certainly would know why before I purchased this car. Run, do not walk away from this car.
Hi Is there a way to contact the previous owner for information about what actually happened. Photos of the damage are required to register the car in Florida. Thank You
@pgcolo69 oh no it’s not dirty, it’s the texture
Is the headliner real dirty?

@Skid44 thank you so much for the input but unfortunately I purchased the vehicle 7 years after the incident. According to carfax, vehicle had a ‘non collision damage’ and became reconstructed titled vehicle. I have no idea about what happened but as I’ve mentioned, there’s no sign of fire, water etc. damage on the vehicle. Carfax is also attached as well
@Drkkrkn Not sure that answered the question, so let me reiterate on behalf of @pgcolo69- what happened to the vehicle (non-collision, non-fire, non-flood) that caused the reconstructed title?
Hello everyone! Thank you for checking this rare gem with no reserve, feel free to ask me any questions. I daily all my benzes-in total of 11- and if you need any detailed pictures/videos don’t hesitate to reach out to me, I’ll send it right away! By the way, the vehicle has 114k miles as can be seen in video, but in case anyone misses it. Good luck!
@pgcolo69 hello, thank you for commenting. I’ve purchased the vehicle back in 2020, and the incident that caused the title situation to be changed to ‘reconstructed’ happened on 2013. Carfax shows as ‘non structural damage’ but can’t see any water/fire damage either. Feel free to ask me anything, I’ll do my best to assist.
Rebuilt title from what cause?
