We had a 1999 base ML320 in the same exterior color (tan interior, with the gray exterior trim); I always thought it made a great SUV but not a great 'Mercedes' (e.g. interior materials were too cheap to hit the original price point). Later models made up for it though (this one shows some wear and tear but the materials were nicer than mine). I drove it until passing it off to my son (one replaced hood due to rear-ending someone at a stoplight later...) The transmission failed after 165K or so when daughter had it; put in a used transmission and it kept rolling until she finished high school and we still sold it for around 2K (we bought her a new car to drive to/from college). Bottom line, it was a solid vehicle and took our abuse. While this one has been 'used' well, it still shows nicely and would make an excellent (if not 'spirited') daily driver for someone! @Armenian Yes, this is correct, the ad copy mentions this. Just on the driver and passenger seat bottom cushions.It looks like the seat inserts were changed.Thanks for all the love so far! Hope one of you can give it a good home.Love my 2000 ML55. It's got 153k miles so basically the same as the one here. This one looks very nice and is very well presented. Man, these are so quirky, rare and beautiful at the same time. Even rarer in this color. After owning a handful W163 (two ML55) I started searching for another one and it pains me this one is so far away from me....grrrrrrrrr! Super cool truck; you won't need luck selling it :)I've owned a couple of these over the years and every time I fall back in love. FWIW this is a rare color to find and more so in this condition. Hi everyone! Welcome to the auction! I bought this ML55 recently to try out the W163 platform after owning several other Mercedes from the late '90s and early '00s. It sort of found me, as I was not in the market for one- but it was hard to pass up on what was once the world's fastest SUV- now in 2024, a relatively rare and quirky classic AMG in a fun color and in nice shape to boot. Ultimately I decided the ML does not really suit the particular purpose I had in mind without modifying what is a very nice stock example. But I've really enjoyed driving this thing around in the meantime and the next owner is sure to enjoy it, too.
