My dad still has his that he bought new in 1979. Silver with Blue. I remember going to the bank with him and it was like $50,000 back then. My dads has an 85 mph speedometer. I would think to repaint this car the motor would have to come out and all of the chrome trim. I would have left it red. Cool car.
@Eurospares , the wheels you mention are different since the ones in the ad have the 3 lines and are missing the numbers on the face of the wheels between the spokes. Also different centercaps. .

The car has been driven less 400 miles since the service. The Michelin tires have less than 300 miles on them. I had a different set of wheels on the car. A ppi is welcome.
@rattytubes, Hi the car is a 1 owner car. It was specially ordered from MB Calabasas. It was originally leased then it was purchased from MB financial. It has always been garaged in Santa Barbara. It had a wrap on it until recently for preparation for sale. The paint is in excellent condition and it has been ceramic coated.
Can you please specify the missing trim items. Also, how would one go about to fit the scuff on the trim moulding. I would not think that MB would sell that piece separately. Thank You

Hi and welcome to my auction. This car was bought by the second owner from his neighbor a huge car collector in Pasadena , Ca. All services are up to date. New tires both new batteries. , AC work was gone through at MBZ motors in Winnetka , Ca. New battery main installed in Dec 2023. The side covers on the rear windscreen were also replaced due to fading at Keyes MB. The damage on the carfax report was from a cracked drivers side mirror that was replaced. I will upload paint meter readings and walk around video. The mileage was incuured from Pasadena to Santa Ynez every weekend which is a 300 mile round trip. If there are any questions please ask. This car needs nothing at this time.

If anyone has any question please let me know. The car was purchased by my friend for his wife at BH MB on Wilshire Blvd in 1977. She was a Professor at USC. It spent most of its life in Pasadena , then about 15 years ago it went to their ranch in Santa Ynez. The car was always maintained to the highest level. It will need tires due to age. I will leave that up to the new owner , as everyone has their taste in brand and style. The tires will set you back approx. $500. Everything works as it should , except the antenna seems to get stuck intermittently. It has original paint except for the top half of three doors. Back in the 1970's and 80's they would paint to fix dents, PDR did not exist. Other than that everything is original.

@Rahtok, the car was not cryo cleaned. Where the car has resided it really does not rain much, no salt on the roads. etc. and the weather is around 70 all year long. Yes, certain components were replaced, brake disc, rebuilt calipers, the car has been garaged and maintained in an ideal environment. Thank you for your interest.

@dcraigk , The only way to have a blue plate is if you took it from a 1981 car or older and transferred it. The plate with the sun looks period correct. But I have older cars with the blue plate and they look great as well.
It has the original plate from 1983 with the sun.
@dcraigk , In 1982, California plates were made white with blue lettering, and an optional sun graphic was added behind the state name. This plate was awarded “Plate of the Year” by the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association in 1983. The sun graphic was discontinued in 1987, You are correct about the side marker light, I ordered new white locking nuts from the classic center. That have since been installed.

@AmpeliaAMG , Owners warranty info in his name as well service records from Palm Springs Mercedes and other misc documents. He passed away in 10/2006 and gifted the car to his Chauffeur . The address listed on the documents was at the Vintage Club in a 20,000 sq ft house and he was worth $6.1 billion when he passed so it was safe to assume he could afford to maintain the car. I will post the service invoice with the wiring harness replacement at 31kmi.
@@Vlad600sel , I purchased these wheels from Stathios and with shipping and fees it was $3,400. Plus it cost $1,500 to refinish them and the Michelin Pilot sport 4s we're around $1,400. So they were an expensive addition. $6,300. But they transform the look of the car.
@Herbie , I have 1 remote that works and 1 regular key. Yes, the cd changer works. Bluetooth can be added internally to the stock head unit for $200 which works very well while retaining the original look. I will submit underneath photos.
@CarCrazy24 , yes the original 16in forged 8 hole wheels come with the car. No tires.

This car had an impressive $103,285 MSRP which is about $210,000 today.

@Skbarker , @Ben1031 , The AC was done by MBZ motors in Canoga Park, hands down the best MB mechanic in LA. Ask anyone. The compressor and high pressure hose were replaced. I will post the receipt.July 2022 The hydraulics for the top were done by New Life Upholstery in Reseda, Ca. Aug 2022 You can look them up as well. As per the wiring harness it was done before I purchased the car. I had a PPI done by MB of Cape Cod (Hanover) and they confirmed this attached is the ppi. I also had MB of Calabasas do an inspection after 1 year of ownership and they found no issues with the car.
