This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Signal Red (568) over Palomino Leather (274), and powered by a 5.5-liter (5,547 cc) M117 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Ordered for the U.S. market, this R107 is equipped with a removable hardtop, automatic climate control, a Becker Mexico Grand Prix radio, heated power-adjustable mirrors, an automatic antenna, an outside temperature indicator, and a front folding armrest. The car was first owned in Vermont and relocated to Connecticut in 1995 where it's remained ever since. The current owner acquired the car in December 2000 and has kept the car as part of their personal collection. Recent work in 2025 included rebuilding the fuel system along with replacement of the fuel pump and fuel filter. Now showing just under 67k miles, this R107 is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a spare tire, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Connecticut title.
The car is finished in Signal Red (568) and features a paint-matched removable hardtop along with a black folding soft top. Exterior equipment includes fog lights, chrome bumper and window trim, heat-insulating glass, an automatic antenna, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors. The paint, trim, and exterior present well overall, with no major imperfections noted. The soft top shows some age from storage including a small tear on the passenger side small plastic window. Detailed photos of the exterior are provided in the gallery.
Factory 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are mounted with Yokohama Avid H4 tires measuring 205/65R15 92H at all four corners with older date codes from 2000 and 2001. The wheels present well overall with some minor scuffs and rash on the rear two. The 560SL was factory-equipped with power steering, fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. A full-size spare wheel and tire are mounted under the trunk floor.
The cabin is upholstered in Palomino Leather (274) with matching carpets and door panels, complemented by burl wood trim on the center console. Interior equipment includes automatic climate control, a Becker Mexico Grand Prix radio, a folding center armrest, an outside temperature indicator, illuminated vanity mirrors, and power windows. The driver’s seat shows some wear on outer back bolster and the center console shows light cracking in the wood veneer consistent with age. Both floor mats are included in the sale. Known issues include inoperative turn signals accompanied by a buzzing sound, and non-functioning power window switches in the center console.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation consisting of a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel economy. The six-digit odometer is reported at 66,973 miles. A driver airbag was equipped from the factory.
Power comes from a 5.5-liter M117 V8, factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque, which sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Recent service in December 2025 included replacement of the fuel pump and fuel filter, while the seller notes further work involved disassembly and cleaning of the fuel system after the car had reportedly sat in climate-controlled storage for approximately four years. Photos also show a missing air intake hose, which does not hinder operation but may affect optimal engine performance.
The Carfax report shows first title activity in Vermont in August 1990, followed by history in Connecticut beginning in 1995 through current day. No accidents or damage reports are shown along with linear mileage updates since new.

Hi. Can you share any known info about the air-conditioning? Does it operate and does it come out? Cool? Also, was it updated to a newer refrigerant if so when? Thank you very much.
