This 2000 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG was originally sold in December 1999 in Pompano Beach, Florida. The first owner kept the car until December 2002, at which point it was leased to a second owner in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2005, the current owner assumed the lease and subsequently acquired the vehicle outright at the end of the lease term in 2007. The car has lived in a western climate since 2005 and consistently garaged. The odometer currently displays just over 106,000 documented miles, with the most recent 48,000 miles added by the seller. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) with a Silver and Black (588) Nappa Leather interior, this C43 AMG is powered by an AMG-tuned 4.3-liter M113 V8 engine, paired with a five-speed automatic transmission controlled by a Touch-Shift gate unique to the 2000 model year. This vehicle is accompanied by comprehensive service documentation dating back to 2003, demonstrating consistent and attentive maintenance. Most recent maintenance includes new rubber fender moldings, Lemforder engine and transmission mounts, a rebuilt drivers side CV axle (boots replacement), Bilstein steering damper, new headliner and sunshade fabric, re-covered c-pillars, and a transmission service with a new OEM conductor plate. This C43 AMG is a rare example, being one of only 90 units produced for the 2000 model year, one of 25 sold in the U.S., and one of 1,125 total C43s in the market. Key features include an electric tilt/slide sunroof, automatic climate control, foldable rear seats, multi-disc CD changer, heated multi-contour power front seats, embroidered C43 front floor mats, telescoping steering column and automatic climate control with REST functionality. The vehicle is offered with its first aid kit, tool kit, original owner’s manuals and books, radio code card, comprehensive maintenance records since 2003, a Carfax report, and a clean Alaska title.
The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and showcases AMG-specific ground effects, which include sculpted bumpers, side skirts, and twin polished AMG exhaust tips. Other exterior features are a power sunroof, IR key-controlled open/close window and sunroof function, integrated antenna, fog lights, and factory smoked tail lamps. The front of the car shows light rock chips consistent with its age and a chip on the rear of the trunk. The rubber body moldings between the rocker panels and quarter panels have been replaced with new OEM seals and all glass, headlamp and fog light lens, and trim are in excellent condition, contributing to the car’s well-preserved appearance. The seller has documented all exterior imperfections in the accompanying photo gallery. Consistently garaged since 2005, the car remains rust-free, and reflects caring ownership.
The cabin features Silver and Black (588) Nappa Leather upholstery on the seats, door panels, headrests, shift knob, and steering wheel. All leather surfaces are original and well preserved, with minor discoloration at the top of the steering wheel. The steering wheel retains its original Black leather finish, complemented by a perforated silver leather upper accent, while the factory shift knob includes a coordinated silver leather insert and "Sport" branding. Original C43 AMG embroidered floor mats remain in place for both front and rear seating positions, featuring silver-accented stitching as pictured in the accompanying gallery. Burl Walnut veneers accent the center console, door panels, cup holder, and upper dashboard; no aging is evident except for a small vertical crack in the lacquer finish centered on the curved upper dashboard veneer, as shown in the images. Notable features include heated front seats with air-adjustable front leg support, side bolsters and dual lumbar support, automatic climate control, power-adjustable heated side mirrors, a stock Becker audio head unit paired with a trunk-mounted 6-disc changer, integrated HomeLink control buttons on the auto-dimming rear view mirror, lighted visor vanity mirrors and power-lowering rear headrests. All backlighting on the buttons and instrumentation is shown to be working as is all interior lighting.
The digital odometer currently reads just over 106k miles, of which 48,000 miles were accrued by the seller since acquiring the vehicle in 2005. White AMG instrument dials include a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for engine temperature and fuel level. Digital readouts display the time and outside temperature with all pixels displaying in orange.
The 4.3-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque and drives the rear wheels through a 722.6 five-speed automatic transmission. The 2000 model year C43 AMG is equipped with the Touch Shift electronic shifter, replacing the linear shifter gate design of earlier models. The seller has comprehensive records since January 2003, which are available for review in the gallery below. The car includes documentation of regular oil changes and an extensive dealer service history. Engine bay photos confirm a complete airbox with the Mercedes-Benz emblem intact, a feature often missing on similar vehicles. The Mobil 1 oil sticker remains affixed to the radiator support and compliments the near-new cleanliness under the hood. The recent replacement of the valve cover and oil cooler gaskets helps ensure that the engine remains free from oil leaks.
The attached Carfax lists a damage claim in 2002 but shows consistent dealer service with all three owners along with 14 history records. This C43 AMG is offered by the current owner with the first aid kit, tool kit, original owners manuals and books, radio code card, thorough maintenance records since 2003, a Carfax report, and a clean Alaska title.

Styling is subjective, but we think the W202 in AMG trim is one of the most handsome sedans Mercedes-Benz has ever put out. The W202 was a light-year jump over the W201 190E as far as construction, interior quality, and packaging goes and truly feels like a modern car. This generation of C-Class is both tough and reliable to boot. The C43 follows in the C36’s footsteps, but didn’t come from two separate homes as the C43 was the first AMG to be built all in-house by Mercedes-Benz. Most importantly, this C43 AMG is a model year 2000, which is one of the first ones we’ve actually ever seen. The Classic Center says only 90 were built for 2000 making this example eyewateringly rare. They also got some key updates and changes including the transmission tuning, the Touch Shift transmission shifter gate, and C43 stamped brake calipers. This example comes with thorough service records dating back to 2003, most of which are from the dealer, a new headliner (they ALL fail), refinished Aero II Monoblocks, and the ride height corrected with lowering springs and tough Bilstein/Koni shocks. There’s nothing else to really do to this car other than drive it. These are so good in stock form that they make a perfect daily driver. Nice ones are getting exceedingly hard to find and are coming up in the market. One just won second place for best in show for Mercedes-Benz at Pebble Beach’s Legends of the Autobahn this year. That says all you need to know.
