This 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS500 was sold new through RBM of Atlanta, Georgia when it was purchased from the original owner by the now current owner in 2023 who has since logged 14k miles on the car as his daily driver. The car is finished in Iridium Silver Metallic (775) over Black Leather (201) and power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes bi-xenon headlights with active corner illumination, heated and ventilated multi-contour front seats, a power sunroof, COMAND with navigation, automatic climate control, rear roller blind, Parktronic, and a premium sound system. The seller has provided a VMI report which includes the dealer service records since new and recent services include new valve cover gaskets. Now with just over 64k miles, this CLS500 is offered by selling dealer on consignment with factory literature, original window sticker, VMI report, one key, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
The exterior is finished in Iridium Silver Metallic (775) and features blue tinted glass, tilt and power sunroof, and headlight washers. The seller notes a scratch on the hood of the car pictured in the gallery. Additional exterior features include Bi-Xenon headlamps and Parktronic. The seller has included paintmeter readings in the gallery below. The headlights are free from cloudy UV damage and sports all original paint other than the hood and front driver quarter panel. Auto-dimming mirrors are equipped with right side park assist.
The cabin is upholstered in Black/Anthracite (201) leather with perforated inserts and features Burled Walnut trim on the dashboard and center console. Amenities include heated and ventilated multi-contour front seats with driver and passenger position memory, a glass sunroof with tilt function, COMAND with navigation, automatic climate control, Parktronic, rear roller blind, rear climate control, and Harmon/Kardon sound system. The shift knob and steering wheel were optioned in burl walnut. Part of the headliner in the rear driver quadrant is starting to let go and there’s minimal wear on the driver seat side bolster.
The multifunction steering wheel is equipped with multi-function buttons and trimmed in Black leather with optional burl walnut. The gauge cluster houses a central 160-mph speedometer flanked by an analog clock and a tachometer that goes up to 7,000-rpm. The digital odometer indicates just over 64k miles.
The naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter M113 all aluminum V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed 722.9 automatic transmission. The seller has provided a VMI report tracing dealer services since new. Most recent services include a valve cover gasket in preparation for the sale. Detailed undersides are provided. The selling dealer indicates thrust arm bushings should be replaced soon.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists multiple dealer service history records along with linear mileage updates. This CLS500 is offered by the current dealer who has the car on consignment with factory literature, one key, original window sticker, VMI report, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
James May of Top Gear is quoted saying, “If we were doing the Cool Wall this week, we could have our first cool Mercedes” when referring to the CLS when it launched. The W219 took the world by surprise with its exaggerated, sweeping look and seven speed transmission and reviewers loved the car. It was genesis for the “coupe sedan” segment that then carried over into the “coupe SUV” that’s so popular today. This is where it all began. This Iridium Silver CLS500 appears to be in wonderful shape with new Arnott struts and a trunk full of services and original literature. Based on the W211, the W219 drives just as solidly the E-Class. Even though it feels like yesterday that these came out, they are getting incredibly hard to find in good condition. Most have been turned to “buy here, pay here” lot flotsam with faded paint and foggy headlights and delaminating interiors with Black Ice hanging from the rear view mirror. Clean ones will probably be fetching decent money in a few years time, so now is the time to buy as they are at the bottom of their depreciation curve. The only way is up with a nice CLS, especially one with the bulletproof 5.0 liter M113.
