@GoBoGo Hi, and thanks for the constructive comment. The front seats are new Recaros, the original MB seats come with the car too. The white might be upholstery under the leather and it showed up after I had the curtains installed. I believe it is easy corrected. Also thanks for the good luck wishes.
@StuttgartClassix Hi, - First: I understand you are not interested in buying this car, as you haven't noticed we posted A LOT of additional photos, including detailles of the extensive restoration, compared to last year. - Next, about the announcement: Last years posting of thembmarket was excellent, so there was no need in changing except for additional photos, so I don't understand what your "mess" referred to. Sadly enough we didn't get to reserve even though it was close. So we waited about one year to announce again, reaching out to new possible bidders. Understand that I am not in need of money, I am over 70, I have too many cars in collection as my children are with other interests and therefore selling. The reserve price is a lot lower than my investment, so a good deal for the buyer anyway, but reserve is reserve. - As to my replies: I am a collector and I drive my collection. I know the good and the bad of my cars and if I provide technical detailles, it is because my restorer, whom I trust 100%, has shared them with me. I am collector, not mechanic. - As to your comment to thembmarket, I am convinced most people agree they are doing a great job, considering it is still a young business.
Hello everyone, It is not my intention to go in detail about this sad event, as this is not the location. But to clear all doubts: the Polish workshop referred to is NOT my restorer but a Polish guy from whom I bought a REAL (not a tribute) and expensive "restored" R107 500SL. It turned out to be badly restored. I invested a lot in the technical improvement on top of the expensive buying price. After the refund, the buyer of the 500SL AMG acquired it very cheap with plenty of space to improve the also poorly done body restoration. I am sorry he is revengeful after so many years, I did more in return than what is proper. About this 500SEL AMG tribute: it is decently restored by my long time restorer and it is truly a gem. I am sure the photos show more than enough. Thank you for reading.
@KRH1 Let me correct you on one point: I have owned this Mercedes for several years and last time we didn't get to reserve price, that by itself doesn't come close to investment. My loss your gain. As for the technical detailles, those came from my restorer after retro fitting and upgrading. the 500SEL. I am not a mechanic but as a long time collector, I have had several W126 500 in my collection over the years and this one is not comparable in speed nor in handling to any of the others I had. Also thanks for the compliments, yes it is a great car.
If you have any doubt or any question, hit the "message seller" button. I will be here to reply to my best knowledge. It is a restored juwel that needs nothing and bring many years of care-free joy.
Over land transport for France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Luxemburg can be done for 860,- Euros
For those interested "overseas", I investigated shipping costs from my location to Brunswick: 2.800,- Dollars (Florida buyers) to Port Hueneme 3.075,- Dollars (California buyers) including inland transport in Spain, bill of lading and customs clearance.... Info: Belgaco shipping co.
@zoccierampqt I provide the crate for free, I communicated the total weight of the roof including the crate (75 Kg). All the elements for a quote are there. Shipping is responsability of the buyer. Mostlikely the ones wanting it already know.
If one of you bidders is seriously interested in this panoramic roof, there is still a way to go before reserve price is reached at 1.5 hour before closing .
@babtainyI have a wooden crate for shipping available. I have no idea oof the costs, but I have good experience with DHL. The total weight with crate would be about 75 Kg. I hope that helps.
@naccer Thanks for the help. The rims might be on the MB-Market soon, as I am brining the blue 500SL to it.s original condition.
@NanditoYes it does.
@NanditoYes it was.
Just to save you time: the Instagram link I posted shows a result of 280HP and a speed on rolling road of 297 Km/h with the AMG engineerd exhaust, camshafts and lifters.
Here is the HP answer after asking permission to use it here from my restorer https://www.instagram.com/p/CahCrgdo5m_/?img_index=4&igsh=MXZxcXEwOHp1c251ag==
@samialwaysamYep, AMG engineering....
@StuttgartClassix The car was tested after installing the AMG engineerd camshafts and lifters and the "rolling street" (Dyno) showed a top speed of 296 Km/h
@jago_mbYes they are and the forward/back switch on the door works too
@MBFahrerI will notify the Webmaster. There are 200+ photos available, including many of the restoration.
Do all features work, like aico, seat belt, windows, central lock aso? Is it a glass sunroof or steel? Thanks
@SLAMMER500True about the real AMG stickers and signs, but all stickers we see are on the spoilers, skirts and cosmetic AMG refinements, but the true value is in the engine... So yes please, assure us about the engine. Thank you.
In general it is true, Japanese love to put stickers and the AMG replica tags are available on Ebay. So for peace of mind, it would be good some proof of AMG engine 6.0 could be given. I agree with KalleRiccar on that matter, without further proof it is a VERY nice 500SL.
