Bottom line, it won't be sold, but thank you to everyone.
LOL...not good enough to part with it though. A 1994 E 60 that had been converted was going for a bid of over 100K. And I promise you, this car is a heck of a lot more car than that one. Who is to say what this could potentially go for in another 10 years.
I view myself as the current caretaker of this amazing Mercedes. I've been thinking over the most recent comment, and a reply for the past few hours. I will begin by saying I am NOT a person who NEEDS to sell this vehicle out of my collection, I am a person who WANTS to sell this vehicle out of my collection. A person cannot easily say what the motivations are behind making comments as you have made. Are they genuine comments, or are they comments made to keep the price low so that maybe at the last minute you can finally place a bid thinking that you might steal the car with a low bid. Or there is the possibility that you don't know what this car is, or maybe you are betting that I don't know what this car is. Either way, does not really matter. I'm not really sure what your motivation is. The very fact that the VMI shows that this car has been very well maintained should be the key take away. You should be more concerned when a person does not maintain their car. You are bidding on a used car that is nearly twenty years old and is by all rights in extremely good condition. This is also no run of the mill Mercedes. This car is special. The original MSRP in 2009 was around 140K. Anyone who knows what this car is and has ever had the pleasure to own or drive, knows exactly what it is. Try to keep all that in perspective. I have also been very transparent. There is a reserve that will not be lifted on this car, and it is not anywhere close to the current bid. For those of you who have actually placed bids, I want to thank you and good luck with your future purchase.
@NYCdriver Thank you. It was extremely important to me to have that original form. It is truly an incredible ride. Always garaged, never driven in the winter or bad weather.
