This is an amazing build. FYI - I owned the donor engine / transmission from my beloved and babied E55 (totaled when truck rear ended it - sob, sob). Pulled like rocket. True that it had less than 110K miles on it when donated. Better yet -- it was a two owner car, with all maintenance having been done along the way. (We were both anal dudes.) Engine is a gem. Wish I had the garage space for it! Sigh...
The engine sounds great. I removed my resonator on my E55, and I got some noticeable engine drone at speed. Any issue with that, given I didn't see an X-pipe in the pics (maybe I missed it, or the cat does that)?
Nice car. Any service records? And any pictures of the noted rust on the exhaust system?
I owned an M156 AMG. Like an IMS bearing in a Porsche, plan to do the headbolts for peace of mind. Worth it, especially for a beauty like this.
