This 1999 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG was purchased by the seller in 2017 with the intention of building a track car. The car is finished in Black (040) and power comes from a swapped 5.4-liter AMG M113 V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes Sparco Sprint Seats with G-Force 5 Point Harnesses, an alcantara wrapped Sparco steering wheel, lightweight Advanti wheels, adjustable coilover suspension, H&R sway bars, a lightweight MB battery, OEM xenon headlamps, and european amber corner lights. The 5.4 M113 swap was performed by the owner, a certified Mercedes-Benz Master Technician, along with the installation of aftermarket parts. The cabin has been cleared of all non-essential parts for weight savings along with the A/C heater case, A/C compressor and condenser, various electrical components, motors, and pumps, and the majority of interior components and panels. Around 500 pounds have been saved in total for an approximate 2,700-lb curb weight. This 5.4-swapped C43 track car is now offered by the current owner with one key, spare parts, an included Carfax report, and a non-rebuildable Texas title.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) and reportedly shows original paint with various surface scratches and rock chips noted. The body features the original sculpted AMG body kit with more aggressive styling on the front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron. Lower grille inserts have been removed and all original lighting has been left intact with european dark amber corner lights installed up front. Additional features include factory xenon headlights, fog lights, and a rain-sensing wiper. This C43 AMG was titled as non-rebuildable in Texas after a fire started in the trunk of the car due to a faulty vacuum pump. It was promptly extinguished with no notable damage to the car beyond the paint defect in front of the rear right tail lamp. Detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery below.
Factory staggered 17” AMG Monoblock wheels have been replaced with lightweight Advanti Racing Storm S1 wheels for approximately 10-lbs of weight savings per wheel. The wheels are wrapped in Nitto NTO1 competition tires showing 2017 date codes. Only one event has been run on the current tires. The car has been fitted with adjustable coilovers and a front H&R sway bar. A rear H&R sway bar will be included in the sale but is not currently installed. New OE rotors and track pads handle braking.
The interior has been reduced to essential components for weight savings and features Sparco Sprint Seats with G-Force 5 Point Harnesses, an alcantara wrapped Sparco steering wheel, stripped panels, insulation, and electronics. All lights and safety equipment are noted as operational. Custom seat brackets were fabricated for the Sparco seats and a cross bar has been installed in the rear for the 5-point harness. The doors show the door glass stored in the doors as needed and can be removed for events and a lightweight OE battery has been installed in the trunk.
Original white AMG instrument dials include a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for temperature and fuel level. Digital readouts display the time and outside temperature while the digital odometer shows just over 205k miles on the chassis. All pixels and backlighting function as intended and can be seen in the gallery.
The original AMG-tuned 4.3-liter M113 V8 has been replaced with a 5.4L AMG M113 V8 from a 2001 E55 AMG (WDBJF74J42B410272) with 109k miles at the time of swap. This engine was factory rated for 354 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. The engine was installed by the owner who is a certified Mercedes-Benz Master Technician. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Additional pictures of the underside are available in the gallery below.
This 5.4-swapped C43 track car is now offered by the current owner with one key, spare parts, an included Carfax report, and a non-rebuildable Texas title.

@leadphut stolen is an understatement
Stolen. Such a deal.
I would've 100% gotten in on the action if it wasn't for the title issue. Having a track car that I could drive regularly would be a dream
Enjoy! Great build and car! And engine...!

@mercedesmike it will not be water tight by any means or even close to water tight. I was only keeping the glass around for a template of plexiglass inserts. You will need a good cover if it is outside

Sorry for all the questions, but I like this thing... the ad mentions the glass stores in the doors, can you confirm that everything is there to mount the glass such that the car is watertight? I don't have a garage spot for it and would need to keep it outside!
@mercedesmike yes I will provide the wiper assembly
To clarify response to ABLatham, is the wiper assembly included?

@ABLatham no further parts would be included. I do have spare parts from other 202’s that could be negotiated with the auction winner
Seller - what (if any) removed parts are still with the car that could be included with the sale? Thanks!

Very nice car! I own a C43 and it's a beast - can't imagine with the swap and all the aftermarket parts. By the way, if you or the future owner is interested, we make the reproduction for the front bumper grill/trim at Heavy Foot Works.
This is an amazing build. FYI - I owned the donor engine / transmission from my beloved and babied E55 (totaled when truck rear ended it - sob, sob). Pulled like rocket. True that it had less than 110K miles on it when donated. Better yet -- it was a two owner car, with all maintenance having been done along the way. (We were both anal dudes.) Engine is a gem. Wish I had the garage space for it! Sigh...
@Merc2000 I will be attempting to obtain a title which will most likely be a salvage title. I never went through with all the paperwork when I purchased it since it was always intended to be a track car. If I am granted a salvage title one could go through their states process to make it street legal again.
@mercedesmike cable and hardware still in place
$1,888 bid placed by @Merc2000
Cool car- if one wanted to use on the street - does the non-rebuildable title create an issue with getting a new title? Just curious if one wanted to make it barely street legal :)
@amgjunkie Did you leave the cable and hardware place from the hood release, or pull everything when you installed the hood pins?
@mercedesmike yes I do have the wiper assembly still
Any chance you have the wiper assembly? Plan to run this in a series that runs in the rain. Doesn't look like any harnesses have been cut, other than presumably the PSE harness?
Looks very quick indeed.
@joeman100 the same as a W210 E55
How many horsepower does it have now?
@mercedesmike just track days
Lap times at Road Atlanta? Has it run in any series races, or just track days?

@Albert7634 I'll keep an eye out. Ouch! That hurts too!
@CICBarkeep my 5.4 swapped C43 is going up soon
Just wanted to highlight that this car has undergone the W202 front end rebuild of steering shock, lower control arm bushings, ball joints, idler gear, and drag link replacement back before the engine was swapped. This is an unbelievable quick car on the track and surprises a lot of people. My plan was to do a manual swap which would have been the next thing on the list if I kept the car. This is a great base for a MB enthusiast to get into road racing. Happy to answer any questions you all may have.
Can't use a track car but I'm still kicking myself for missing your last C43. Ouch!
