This G just oozes coolness. I didn't know this was a thing until I saw it. Jealous of whoever wins it.
@AVL70 Definitely was mentioned in the copy and yes rather common for this era. Killer G!
@AVL70 "The owner notes the ladder frame was replaced with an older frame in 1997 due to luxury taxes in Norway. " In the middle of the description it is visible! When the car moved to Norway they chose to change the frame in order to avoid the ultra high luxury taxes for a 6.0L V8 luxury car. It is very common in this period to have a frame change , but we have all documentation including the purchase contract from Germany to Norway with only 60.000 km
G is from 1980 with a 460 chassis but rest is 1993! Never mentioned anywhere why????

@anomadtoo I think that's just the beginning. Premerger AMG with a 6.0 and limited production....Nahhh that's mild
Well that was just blown waaayy out of a normal market price range; haha. Consider this done.
@BoKnowsBenz nah
@MSerpe Yes! and we have another of the 13 500GE 6.0 made, which by the way is very consistent to this one running now. @rattytubes no issue importing a car older than 25 years in the US if you bid. We have done it over 300 times over, and if you are in still in California you can get a Montana LLC. Would live to see this one come to the US, either with us or the very lucky winner of this extremely rare AMG Benz. GLWA.
@PatinaCollective would be a great addition to park next to the white 300GD at the museum
@rattytubes If you got the money to buy you got the money to figure it out. 25 years and older can enter just gotta pay Uncle Sam.... Unless you live in California in which case you shoud leave.
We have 2 extraordinary cars from @Tino in the collection, an S70 AMG and an SL73S Brabus. This SOHC Hammer-G is an AMG not to be missed!

The seller has uploaded two videos to the listing.
@MercedesDad Hi 460 chassis change is approved in the title and the title matches the frame vin number, so no issue with import First date of registration 31.12.1980 The AMG certificate and the Mercedes garage invoices use the W463 VIN. All title docs contain the actual 460 VIN. The frame replacement is documented with papers from 1997.
G-Hammer! The granddaddy of the G63. @Tino, could you please elaborate the part where the ladder frame was replaced with an older chassis (from a W460 it seems) in 1997? I have imported cars to the US in the past but I cannot remember if US customs looks at that too. (Each state will vary).
@BO55 Hi. It never ever had one. The conversion includes the 6.0L AMG M117 V8 engine (AMG technikpaket). Even the AMG wheels were later mounted. This is a german car tuned by AMG Affalterbach, not an AMG Japan car! The 1st owner chose to keep the original look.
Is AMG steering wheel included
@rattytubes Hello again. There is nothing to convert to get it street legal. I prepared a link of the shipping company I work with. There you can read everything you need to know. https://cfrclassic.com/international-car-shipping/car-imports-your-guide-to-the-25-year-rule/
@Tino thanks for your response. So the import fees are all that we have to worry about? How does one go about ensuring the car meets US safety and emissions standards (federalization )? I really would like to be a player in this auction but there are so many gaps in my knowledge of this process, and the more I research online the less confident I am in my ability to successfully import.

@rattytubes Hello. The car is located in Quakenbrueck, Germany. The distance to the next port in Bremerhaven is around 100 miles. I will do a closed transport to the port without any additional fees for the buyer. The buyer pays the container and as far as I know 2.5% import fees in the US (Car is over 25 years old).
Hello. Info for US bidders: The car is located in Quakenbrueck, Germany. The distance to the next port in Bremerhaven is around 100 miles. I will do a closed transport to the port without any additional fees for the buyer. The buyer pays the container and as far as I know 2.5% import fees in the US (Car is over 25 years old).
Couple obvious yet important questions, especially for those of us in the US: 1. What city is the car located? Usually it states in the Quick Facts section but not in this listing. I know it states Norway title, but is it actually in Norway? I know a car can be titled in one European country but garaged in another. 2. What are we looking at in terms of ballpark $$$ and paperwork hassle to get this to the US? Thanks and GLWTA!
