Research indicates this may be one of the most well-sorted examples that's come to the 'open' market in the last five years and describing the bidding thus far as 'back of the money' is a generous way of putting things. Buyers are out there. Wish I was one of them.

Could be an exciting finish for this beautiful example...replete with all the hard to find & usually "gone missing" items. In addition an owner who appears to be a very fastidious knowledgeable enthusiast. Currently back of the money as compared to recent (last 12 months or so) sl600 SA sales . Only "thing" potentially holding her back (IMO) is the middling miles pushing her out of 'truly collectible' into great driver; of course time-horizon dependent. Economic sentiment seems to have soured over last 7-10 days...Would hate to pay collectible $$ for great driver...thus the final 'Golden Hour' may be fascinating. Best

@JAB12 I am out of town and can not take the pictures you have requested or shoot the videos sorry. I can assure you the roll bar works and is in excellent shape and working order like the rest of the car.
@PCamp Thanks for the kind words.
@drcbill thanks for brining this example here. Any chance you can upload a few photos with the top down and roll bar up? Also if you can, would like to see a short walkaround/driving video. Thank you.
I know both the vehicle and owner and both are top notch. The car is beautiful and the owner... I'll stick with top notch. @drcbill is a Mercedes enthusiast and it shows in the condition of the car. Best of luck in the sale and an early congrats to the buyer.

@VeeTwelve The car has ADS the vehicle adjusts the ride height automatically as you drive, or you can raise the vehicle. That is what the toggle switch next to the headlight switch does. I don't know if the switch was on when the pictures where take. I let the photographer take the car across the street and do his thing.
$25,000 bid placed by @Rekesee82
What a beautiful R129 and such great pics. I only found out MB had made Silver Arrows with the V12 quite recently and have been quietly looking for a good example. A couple of questions: The car seems to sit a bit high in most of the pics, particularly the front end, then I noticed the toggle switch next to the headlight switch. Does the car have a front-nose lift function? Any chance the pics were taken with the lift up?
@emanting Yes I had the hood, front bumper and mirrors wrapped in April 2020. When the bumper was repainted the Xpel was removed. I chose not to put it back on the bumper. The car runs smooth with no vibrations at any speed.
Beautiful R129. I think I saw in the records that Xpel film has been applied to the body panels. Is that correct? How does the car drive down the road? Smooth with no vibrations at any speed? Reason I'm asking is that I had a 2002 with 21k that I could not solve a vibration issue.

@Gryphon12 Thanks for pointing this out. As stated I had the front bumper repainted. When I picked her up from the shop my main concerns were paint color match and gap fitment and they were spot on. I failed to look underneath her to see the fender wheel tabs fitment, my bad, Thanks again.
@emmalab. I have a full set.
Gorgeous car. FYI: The black tabs for the wheel well covers should be under the bumper with only the screws visible. Super minor fix that takes about 5 minutes. GLWA

@EmmaLab I appreciate your comment, Yes the key ring fob and pen are rare you can find 10 briefcases before you find them. Good luck on your hunt.

@EmmaLab Thanks for commenting, also the seldom seen pen and key fob, plus the window sticker.

Even the briefcase and certificate are there. All the marbles. What a package! This gives me some V12 envy as I have an 8cyl Silver Arrow.
@th_boone Thanks for your remarks, by the way the 123, 126 and the Fire Truck are not mine they belong to a good friend.
What a beauty.. and in Cary nonetheless (I am in Raleigh). The photos with the 123, 126 & Unimog in the background are perfect. Way outta my league, but kudos for a great listing.
@Svhamelly Thank you for your kinds comments
@GoBoGo Thank you for your comments. The year when Mercedes Benz was the featured marque and it was honor to be invited to show her in one of the Mercedes Benz classes.
I've seen this car many times and even ridden in it a couple times. It is one of the finest examples you will find out there. Bid with confidence on this car. GLWA
I used to love the Cincy Concours... when I lived there (88-92) it was held at Cincinnati Country Day school and benefited the Arthritis Foundation. I enjoyed volunteering every year and it was an amazing show! Good luck with this one; I love these models--yours looks exceptional!

Welcome to the auction! I have owned my SL600 Silver Arrow for a little over 10 year and have enjoyed driving it and showing it. If you live in the Southeast and are a Mercedes Benz enthusiast you many have seen her. She has been down to Amelia Island, several time to Hilton Head Island, EURO Auto Festival in Greer, SC not to mention MBCA Concours in Washington, DC and Atlanta. The farthest north I have gone to show her was at the Cincinnati Concours d’Elegance in Ault Park. As I age, I find I’m not able to do what I use to and now it’s time to pass her on to a new steward to take care of her and enjoy. Happy bidding.
