This 2004 Mercedes-Benz S500 Designo Silver Edition was first sold by Fletcher Jones Motorcars in Newport Beach, California. It was first registered in Southern California and remained there with the original owner until the summer of 2023 when it was acquired by the current owner in Knoxville, Tennessee. This example is finished in Designo Silver (029U) over Exclusive Pebble Leather (575A) and shows 64k miles from new. Power is provided by a 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 that sends power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. This W220 S-Class features Designo extended leather, COMAND infotainment system, rear roller blind, rear side window shades, Parktronic system, four zone climate control, bi-xenon headlamps, 17” chrome wheels, keyless-go, heated front seats, power-adjustable rear seats with heating/ventilation, and more. The included Carfax report shows 30 service history records, predominantly all dealer service. In addition this example has seen thorough preventative maintenance in the last year. This 2004 Mercedes-Benz S500 Designo Silver Edition has had an additional 7k miles added to it by the current seller and is now offered for sale in Atlanta, Georgia with a clean Carfax, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, 64k miles, and a clean Tennessee title.
This W220 is painted in Designo Silver (029U) and is equipped with a headlight washer system and unblemished bi-xenon headlights. June 2023 at 57k miles:
Carfax reports Mercedes-Benz of Palm Beach performed a rear main seal replacement and new MAF sensor in 2018 at 48k miles. The car shows no rust following the undersides photos seen in the gallery and its 18-year tenure in California. This W220 provides dealer service records since new on the Carfax and most recently has been dialed in by an Atlanta based independent specialist AMG technician prior to the sale.
The clean Carfax reports the S500 being dealer serviced by the original owner up until it left California in 2023. Paint meter readings show original paint throughout and the linear miles match up with the service records. This 2005 Mercedes-Benz S500 Designo Silver Edition is now offered for sale by the selling party’s family in Atlanta, Georgia with a clean Carfax report, over $5,000 in recent records, manufacturer's literature, two keys, and a clean Tennessee title.

The secret about the W220 platform is finally out with the gaining popularity of the “04 Rich” culture that is stepping on the toes of the RADWOOD movement. There’s one issue however: there’s so few good examples in existence they’re getting nearly impossible to find. The W220 S-Class fell victim to the “fourth owner” curse since they became a cheap foray into the Mercedes-Benz brand years ago. So many of them got swallowed up by people who didn’t have a garage to park them in or the knowledge of the maintenance intervals they require to live a long, healthy life. This particular 2004 Mercedes-Benz S500 painted in uber rare Designo Silver sporting chrome wheels (they coming back – you heard it here first) shows what living life in a garage, pampered by dealer services, and existing in the gentle California climate will do to preserve a car. The interior photo gallery shows you can get mind altering S600 luxury without the mechanical headache that comes with a V12 and the finicky ABC suspension. The Designo team made a lights-out interior on these W220s – they’re truly special. The indomitable 5.0 liter M113 mashed up with the 7-speed transmission with brand new Airmatic suspension is a potent mix – this car scoots with a cabin that is mouse quiet. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a W220 specced like this with service records that point towards the owner being a pilot with an open wallet. We can’t tell you the next time a highly specced W220 with a depleted-uranium heavy sticker price, long ownership term, and concise records will hit auction again.

I’m here for the final moments of the auction. Original paint, all services up to date, super clean car. It will have no issues with the winner flying in and driving it home. We got this one super dialed in. Good luck everyone!

Thank you.
@W3159365 We can totally work something out, that’s no issue.
Beautiful Mercedes, I am currently out of the US until 23 March. If I were the high bidder and paid for the car is it possible for you to store the vehicle until I return. Respectfully James Phillips

@mikelaca It does not have an AUX port. I think only the 2003s got them. I've been using a FM/AM Bluetooth device plugged into the cigarette lighter to listen to music/podcasts.
Were you able to confirm if the car has an aux-in audio jack in the arm rest or glove box?
As we enter the final day of the auction for this W220, I'll be on standby to answer any remaining questions bidders will have. Feel free to PM me and I'm more than happy to have a phone call with interested parties since that's the best way to feel out a car and owner, in my opinion. I'm hopeful the listing I put together covers every facet of this super clean S500. I'll be on standby today -- responses might have 30 minute delays since I am working today. Good luck everyone! This is one of the cleanest and nicest specs I've seen in a while, has all the maintenance up to date, and is nicer than my 40k mile S430 I owned last winter. I'm really happy and proud to represent this car for my dad.

Driving video and walkaround video is up showing all the operational functions of the car. Again, please feel free to ask any questions. I'm here for you guys!

Does anyone know if this car has, or if it is easily possible to add, a 1/8 inch aux in stereo mini jack? To allow the connection of a media device through the ubiquitous headphone style connector
@dunlapimports The color is shapeshifting for sure. It's almost a seafoam green in the light, silver in the shade, and as you can see, a little brown when the sun starts to set low in the horizon. It's a really unique color. Different cameras and lenses will always show the car differently as far as color goes.
it has a 7 speed transmissions
take pictures out in the sun color look brown when its kind of green gold a lady doctor from California owned this car it was special ordered
car has a factory Bluetooth a super rare option that you forgot to add
See my comment directly below yours — your concerns have already been addressed via verbiage and will dissolve under the video walkaround of the interior. Video evidence is indeed irrefutable. Seatbelt is admittedly the way it is and I missed a spot under the steering wheel. I’m good at detailing, but I’m only human ;) I always appreciate your interaction on all of my auctions! I’m happy they usually stir up enough energy to leave a comment.
Interior needs some serious cleaning.
To all interested parties, I was going through the pictures and a few photos of the front seats make the Designo leather look dirty. I can assure you that it is the perforations in the leather doing weird things to the lens during my photo shoot. I covered this issue in the interior walkaround video (that's coming here in the next few days) and zoomed in on the seats to show that the dye is indeed not delaminating off the leather and show the seat isn't stained or dirty.

Everyone welcome to this survivor example W220 S500 in Designo Silver! First things first, this is my dad's car -- I know how to navigate the auction sphere better than him, so that's why I'm representing it. I also only like to sell cars of the highest quality on this account and this W220 is exactly that. That said, the guy knows how to pick out a good car and usually has unrealistic expectations when it comes to used car's condition when he's hunting down examples to purchase. When purchased, this was described as mint by the seller, but he didn't quite think it was when it arrived from California, hence the $5,000 he threw at it immediately before driving down from Nashville to take delivery of it. My brother was the service technician for this car who works at a high-end shop that specializes in AMGs. If anyone has questions, I can always get him to chime in. This is probably my dad's 70th Mercedes-Benz of the 200+ cars he's owned. He's a curator of only the nicest examples and always has been since he fell in love with the brand in the '70s. He's selling this W220 because he recently bought a house on a mountain side with super steep hills that occasionally gets snow, so he bought a AWD SUV and this S500 became redundant in his collection, not to mention he refuses to buy a 4MATIC S-Class since he firmly believes they should be RWD. The MB Market will be uploading YouTube videos demonstrating the driving quality and cosmetic condition of this car sometime soon, so stay tuned. Please PM me or comment any questions you have and I'll respond as fast as possible. If you need supplementary video of photos I will provide them immediately. Thanks for looking everyone!
