This 1994 Mercedes-Benz SL500 was sold new in Texas and shows registration history in Texas, Massachusetts and currently Arizona. Finished in Polar White (149) over Royal Blue Leather (272), power is provided by a 5.0-liter M119 V8 and this two-seater roadster shows just under 48k miles on the odometer. Equipment includes a Navy power soft top, removable paint-matched hardtop, power adjustable seats with memory, automatic climate control, an aftermarket Sony head unit, and 16” aluminum alloy wheels. Recent service shows a new oil pressure sender, distributor cap, and spark plugs. This car is now offered at No Reserve by the selling dealer out of Bowling Green, Kentucky with one key, the owner's manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.
The exterior of this SL500 is finished in Polar White (149) paint with matching lower body cladding. The Navy soft top is power operated and the seller notes that the hydraulic cylinder over the passenger side of the windshield leaks. Included is a paint-matched hardtop with heated rear glass. At the front sit the halogen headlights with a wiper/washer system along with integrated front and rear fog lights. The seller notes that no rust or body damage is present on the vehicle.
This SL500 sits on 8x16” 8-hole aluminum alloy wheels wearing Falken all season tires at each corner showing 2014 date codes. Power-assisted 4-wheel disc Anti Lock Brakes are standard. The wheels appear in good condition with no rash or bends visible.
The interior is finished in a Royal Blue Leather (272) which covers the seats, arm rests and door panels while Burl Walnut wood trim accents the center console and dash with cracks visible around the shifter surround. The seats are 10-way power adjustable with memory, along with both door mirrors and rear view mirror which feature auto dimming glass. Additional features include heated seats, automatic climate control, an aftermarket Sony head unit, cruise control, and a retractable rollbar. Detailed photos of the interior can be seen in the gallery.
The leather wrapped steering wheel frames the gauge cluster which features a center-mounted 160-mph speedometer along with a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, instant economy, coolant temperature, oil pressure and an analogue clock. The digital odometer reads just under 48k miles and sits above the digital outside thermometer. Controls are mounted to the steering column for power tilt/telescope along with the cruise control. It's been noted a photo shows a clip-on wood insert on the steering wheel in the photos and it's since been removed for the sale.
This roadster is powered by a 5.0-liter 32-valve M119 V8 which produces 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Recent service shows a new oil pressure sender, distributor cap, and spark plugs.
The Carfax report lists no accidents or damage with just two owners and linear mileage updates since new. This car is now offered at No Reserve with one key, the owner's manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.

@Jhoagg. Yep! Seller posted the photo I requested but never responded to my message if the car had been in any sort of accident. Hood was definitely repainted at some point because the underside rear is body color when it should be OEM black. Price also reflected work needed to be done, like the top hydraulics and the delaminated wood console. Cosmetic issues mentioned but no details. You really had to look at the photos carefully and know what to look for.
I’m a bit disappointed this seller didn’t do a better job of responding to questions and providing information about the car. Case in point: pictures/videos of the soft top. Of course, it’s possible this might actually help some bidder get a good deal on the car. Personally, I just need a bit better information flow before bidding seriously.

@Jhoagg I took the key to the lockbox with me, but it is unlocked and can be viewed no problem. I will contact someone to show the car and message you privately. Sorry for the inconvenience
@nvanmali95 Thanks. Can anyone else show the car before auction end while you’re out of town?
@BVC500 that is a bend in the grille.
@Jhoagg Sorry for not responding to your message, I’m out of town until the 11th.

I live within driving distance of this car, and have asked the seller directly if I could look at the car before the end of auction. I have not yet received any response from the seller.
Can you post a photo of the underside of the hood, specifically at the back near the windshield washer nozzles? Also, are the grill slats bent or is that photo distortion?

Hello everyone and welcome to the auction of my 94 SL500. As the auction says, this car only has 48k miles and drives like it! The hydraulic cylinder above the passenger seat in the windshield frame is leaking a very small amount. And there are some minor cosmetic issues inside. But outside and mechanically this car is a gem! I’ve had numerous parts replaced but stopped short of some due to the fact it’s a fourth car and rarely sees the road beyond nice weather and weekends. If you have any questions, need specific pictures, or videos please don’t hesitate to ask!
@Agore1 Yes it’s the same car, it had a wood cover on the top of the rim to hide some wear on the steering wheel but I had removed it to show the true condition of the rim.
Some of the pictures show a wood steering wheel and others do not? Are all pictures of the same car?
