The car is finished in Midnight Blue (904) from the factory with matching lower cladding and bumpers. Features include an electric sunroof with tilt function, a vented front passenger quarter panel unique to the diesel versions, and a power-retractable antenna. A scratch near the rear model designation badge has been remediated and a close-up is viewable in the gallery.
Videos provided below show a walk around of the body and engine bay, a cold start, and a driving example.

Additional photos of the service records and body panels have been added to the end of the gallery.
I have been asked about service records and books. I’ve submitted photos of about $4100 in service history and the books that came with the car as well as the all important E-class owners bible. These items will be included with the sale. Documentation is everything when you own a classic Mercedes.
Very cool to see. These cars are absolute tanks. Rivals W463 build quality and feel (save for the two feet higher position)
Photos of the door jambs have been added to the listing gallery. Thank you.
I’ve been asked to post pictures of the door jams. I’ve sent them along and they should be posted here shortly.
Thank you for the question. The oil pan gasket was replaced because it was leaking. The oil pan was not replaced. I’ll ask the editors to correct that. The transmission pan and gasket were replaced. I wanted the transmission serviced and I saw what looked like a rust spot on the pan, so I had it replaced. As it turns out, the old one was fine. I’m just particular about having the job done right.
I apologize if this question has already been answered but why was the oil pan replaced? As far as I know the engine mounts have to be undone in the engine lifted in order to replace the oil pan on these cars. That's a pretty big job so just curious why the oil pan was replaced. It also says the transmission pan was replaced? Why was that also replaced?
Very sharp car, no doubt a rare one in this color combo.
Gorgeous color combo! Quite a stunner and perfect miles for a diesel with plenty of life ahead.
@dean_Laumbach thanks for your questions. The paint appears to be original. Before I bought it, I had it looked at and the inspector used a paint meter all over the car and concluded it was original. It’s not 100% perfect. There is a scratch or two on the trunk area that have been touched up. I’ve tried to accurately show them in the pictures. There is a very slight crease that didn’t damage the paint under the drivers side rear door. That actually looks worse in the picture than in person, but again I wanted to make sure I’m representing the car honestly. The major stuff that needed fixing wasn’t really horrible. I’m found a 30 year MB tech who would make me an exact replica of the wiring harness, minus the biodegradable insulation, of course. He recommended that I replace the vacuum pump as a precaution. When the OEM pump lets loose, it dumps it’s bearings into the crankcase and grenades the motor, so I replaced it. Brakes, steering, suspension are working as designed. No squeals, squeaks, groans or pulling. The headliner was replaced by a previous owner and they did a nice job. They also put fabric on the bottom of the sunroof and it looks good there. However, it’s thick so,it binds when the roof opens or closes. The motor works fine. I don’t use the sunroof, so I don’t really care. The new owner can remove the fabric if they like. I don’t know if there is glue holding the fabric to the roof or not. Just in case, a new frame for the bottom of the sunroof in the trunk that the new owner can install. The oil is fresh, the transmission has been serviced, there were fuel leaks that have been repaired even the cabin filters are new. I just had the AC serviced and it blows out of the dash vents like it’s supposed to. Heat works fine, too. The only thing acting up is the oil pressure gauge. It’s fine at start up, showing max oil pressure. After the car warms up, the needle sometimes gets jumpy. The car runs great but you won’t be winning any drag races. Still, the OM606 is torquey and responsive. Sure, if you want to see the car in person, I’m happy to accommodate you. You’re going to love it!
Beautiful W124 !!! Love the color combination. Do you know if the car is wearing all original paint? Mechanically I see you addressed a lot of wear related item. Anything not functioning 100% heat/AC blowing through proper vents? Any sagging in the headliner near the rear windows? Gorgeous car, and I am local. Any chance of seeing the car after the holiday? Thanks, Dean
