@seller - It would be great to see a response to my questions below from 2 days ago. I am also waiting for your return phone call.
Can anyone from the MB community help me with a better understanding of code 990? I see this listed on other pre merger auctions…didn’t see it here but maybe its in a photo I overlooked?
Wow! @Mercedesml Would you be able to post paint meter readings? I understand the car has been resprayed - looking to see thickness across panels (cosmetic repaint vs evidence of damaged/body filler) Can you speak to the repaint? Glass out proper work, was the car taken apart - or are there tape lines? Did the manifold come up that clean from dry ice or was it sprayed silver? I see some really minor things like the broken speaker trim in the door - any other blemishes or imperfections to note? Would be great if you were able to post a driving video. Thanks in advance.
Love this. Dry ice would clean up the underside to look brand new if desired. @seller Aside from the chips / pitting on the hood and the dings in the rear quarter behind the wheel; any other chips/blemishes/damage to note?
Would also like to better understand why TMU Enjoy! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8edfo_8LdOU
Correct - this example sold on BAT in Sept 2022 There was a different 190 2.3 16v that sold recently on BAT - it was a west coast car… check the vin, not the same car
@babybenzfan It looks like the seller purchased the car 6 months ago. Not a few weeks ago. I’ve purchased cars, made them perfect to my OCD level, then sold them. Sometimes the chase, the purchase, then the minor restoration is the fun. To each his own…no judgment
@seller Im local to you - can I arrange to see the car in person?
Just catching up on comments here. I asked if this was a real AMG car or just a cool 560 early on below. Response was “As with most pre merger AMGs there's no AMG paperwork. Being a US car, the car would've been done at Westmont” Misleading? I have to agree the description in the listing is misleading as well. @mbmarket you know better. Cool car, but come on - the whole Pre-Merger write up… As for the seller - every car is different but I just inspected another one of their cars and while the photos look flawless, there was a good deal of damage that was not seen or disclosed via the glamour shots.
I have the same question as a comment below: When was AMG conversion done and where? “Beautiful car just determining of it s a cool 560 or a investment pre merger AMG. Great car either way”
Wow. Great example. Would you mind verifying the original paint with some photos if paint meter readings on each panel?
Should have sold at this number…
🍿
Thanks @seller. Any paintwork / bodywork? Would you be open to posting paint meter reading in the next few days?
Any flood damage? The Carfax shows New Orleans in 2005 and calls this out on the report. If there is no flood damage carfax should not list this IMO,m.
@seller are you able to post paint meter readings to confirm original paint on each panel?
@seller @gearhead888 Beautiful car. Before I bid in these final days; Can you share any detail on the paint/body work? How extensive was the rust, in what areas, and how was it addressed? Photos documenting the work would be ideal. Did the work consist of new panels, cutting and welding, or a quick fix with lots of bondo that will come undone in a few years? Was the car disassembled during paint and to what extend, or will we find tape lines and edges and overspray on seals Id love to see paint meter readings all around and specifically in the rust repair areas. Expecting they will be high with the repaint, but will I see 9, 10, 11, 12, or is the car reading 40+ w. Bondo. Would be a quick 5 minute task to take a meter to the car if you dont mind. Trying to determine a quality and proper paint job or a quick scuff and shoot for resale.
Can seller post paint meter photos?
