This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300SL was sold new in Pennsylvania in June 1991 and remained in the state until the seller acquired the car in 2021. Finished in Signal Red (568) over Anthracite (271) leather, power is provided by a 3.0L DOHC 24v M104 inline-six backed by a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, power windows and mirrors, a black fabric top, rear “kinder seats”, acceleration skid control (ASR), and a matching removable hardtop. Recent service since April 2022 includes a new convertible top main cylinder, head gasket, fan clutch, water pump, radiator flush, and an oil and filter change. This R129 now shows 38k miles from new and is now offered by the selling dealer in Ohio with original manufacturer’s literature, two original keyfobs, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.
The exterior is finished in Signal Red (568) with matching Signal Red lower cladding and features integrated fog lamps, headlight washer/wipers, ribbed taillight lenses, a panoramic windshield wiper, an automatic antenna, a black fabric top, and a color-matched removable hardtop. The Carfax report indicates no prior accident history and detailed photos are provided in the gallery.
Factory 16″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are free of curbing or other major imperfections and are fitted with Nexen N'Priz AH8 All Season tires. A full-sized spare wrapped in an original Pirelli P600 tire is housed in the trunk along with the original tool roll and OEM spare tire instruction tag from the factory.
The power-adjustable front seats feature memory settings and are upholstered in Anthracite (271) leather with matching door panels, center console, carpeting, and a hard boot cover. The dashboard is finished in black, and burl wood trim accents the center stack, shifter surround, and doors. Rear Kinder seats are installed and can easily be removed as desired. Amenities include automatic climate control, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, and a Becker Grand Prix 2000 AM/FM/cassette stereo.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a central 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just under 38k miles.
The 3.0L 24v DOHC M104 inline-six produced 228 horsepower and 201 lb-ft of torque when new and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels. Recent service since April 2022 includes a new convertible top main cylinder, head gasket, fan clutch, water pump, radiator flush, and an oil and filter change. A new hood pad was also installed in September 2023.
The August 2022 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage along with registration history in Pennsylvania and Ohio from new. This R129 is now offered by the selling dealer with original manufacturer’s literature, tool roll, two original keyfobs, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.

@Bgyula1977 The roof does work! All hydraulics have been serviced! This Vehicle is mechanically sound! Doesn't need anything but a new loving owner to enjoy the thrill of a classic Beautiful example of a Mercedes Convertible! Best of luck to all bidders!
Does the roof work? Or is there a problem with it?

@Latium05 The vehicle received complete mechanical service and need’s absolutely nothing. The engine was taken apart and replaced all of the seals and gaskets and wearable items. I can upload a list of what was done in the short future when I am back at the office. The hydraulics were also replaced recently in the past few months, one side started to leak and to reduce the possibility of others leaking, it was recommended to replace all, which was done. The car does not need anything other than someone who will enjoy the ride! Thanks and good luck!

Do you have the repair history/service records for this SL300? Anything at all that needs attention?
$5,000 bid placed by @Lancer
It is a shame this is an automatic. A 5 speed manual transmission would really wake this car up to its full potential. But that is just me.
