A walk around and driving video can be seen below.
With styling cues from the W210 lineup, the CLK55 affords those looking for young classic AMG access the luxury of doing so with iconic AMG flare and arguably the best power plant to come out of Affalterbach since the 6.0 M117. The 208 AMG's are following the footsteps of the W210 and W202 line up with rising values thanks to a growing desirability. While big screens, small displacement, and overwhelmingly complicated tech suffocates the modern day automobile, the early 2000's still offer gems like this CLK55 which provide enthusiasts with classic design, mechanical reliability, and a more analog/connected driving experience with little compromise. This one should be paid special attention for the meticulously documented ownership and notable originality.

I'm not actively bidding on this one BUT if I were, it'd be at the top of my list. I've seen this car in person and it absolutely holds up to the photos and video. Good luck to all here- killer car.
With 30 minutes to go, I will be at my computer ready to assist any bidders. Thanks and good luck.
Paint meter readings have been uploaded to the end of the gallery. Plus the two Michelins I have hanging up that come with the car. With the last day of the auction coming to a close, I will be answering additional questions anyone has and will have my phone nearby if anyone wanted to have a chat. Thanks everyone and good luck!

Having owned a CLK320, CLK430, and a CLK55 Cabrio, this example of the w208 CLK55 is just about as close to a museum piece as you can get. The smell is correct, interior materials feel as they should, and the car drives super healthy. Bid with confidence on this car and good luck to everyone today!

@dean_Laumbach Thanks for the comment, Dean! Very much a sleeper car with the performance they punch. They look like a CLK430 but with the full on monoblocks as the only exterior aesthetic differentiator. And the badge, or course. @Gullideckel Let's see how long you can hold the top bid before someone comes in and stirs the pot again. I'm rooting for you! I'm going to get The MB Market to upload paint meter readings today. Keep an eye out for my comment when I confirm they're uploaded.

@Herbie Luckily for enthusiasts, you can source pretty much any part for this from the likes of FCP Euro, AutohausAZ, or your local Mercedes-Benz dealer to utilize your MBCA discount. The only thing NLA that I’ve encountered are the air bladders in the Contour Seats. These share a ton of parts with the W202 and W210, all readily available. Front brake rotors run about $300 each and is one of the more expensive consumables for the car (already done on this) and can be ordered to your front door in three minutes.
Don't forget, that the car is in mint condition now and to keep it this way, you have to be willing to invest in upkeep with an open wallet. Any AMG parts of this area are not off the shelf. Some are NLA. Storage in an airconditioned space is also a must. At least in my opinion. Herbert
I have said this before, and will say it again until its no longer true. The V8 C208/A208 is the ultimate "sleeper" car and the best value in today's Mercedes-Benz market. Love this car !!! Dean
It’s good to see @herbie enter the battle! Had a good chat with you this morning. Thanks for reaching out. Again for anyone who missed it, PM me if you want to chat over the phone to feel me and the car out better. More than happy to just have a friendly conversation about the CLK or just Mercedes and cars in general.
Or not

Undersides have been added to the gallery including those brake rotor measurements mentioned earlier. I took paint meter readings last night, so I'll get with the guys to have them uploaded. It read 4.0 mils on every surface of the car. I will also add a reload of ceramic to the car tonight in preparation for the sale to it's ready to go for the next owner.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I totally forgot to mention anywhere in the auction that the CLK55 comes with two extra rear Michelin Cup 2s with the sale. I’ll get pictures of them up soon. They have about 60% life with 2019 date codes.

@willchao A-pillar fabric is not loose. Not sure why that was in the description. With any W208 this age, the foam used to back the fabric is super brittle on the a-pillar. There are two finger print indentations on the passenger side from where someone touched it before my ownership. I can PM you a picture of the "damage" once I get home and I'm with the car or have MBM upload it to the gallery. A-pillar fabrics are in good shape though and are not lose. All the adhesive is intact. If you're intimately familiar with this chassis, you'll notice the finger print in the correct lighting. It wasn't worth mentioning in my walkaround since it's so miniscule, but being an actual OCD owner, I notice these things since anything less than perfection is noticed on my part. Appreciate the comment. EDIT: Talked to The MB Market and they had a typo on their end. The fabric behind the vanity mirror has a small bubble forming. They will update the listing.

A lot of great pictures, so my apologies if I missed it, but are there pictures of the "fabric on the A-pillars to be slightly loose"? Thanks!

@parkerts610 A C216 is on my must buy list. I’d like to grab one later this year as the winter daily. They’re unbelievably good. I used to have a 560SEC and I miss the pillarless coupe life.

Had one of these. Absolutely one of the best cars I’ve ever owned! Only car I’ve liked better is my current: 2010 CL550 4matic.

@pilotbrother2003 I had a 1999 C43 (the one in my bidding history) and then got this CLK two months later and promptly sold the C43 since the engine in this thing is magic. I threw OE+ suspension modifications and sway bars at the C43 and just couldn't get it to drive as good as the CLK, so it had to go. I think the Pilot Super Sports certainly help. That said, I think an Obsidian Black W202 C43 is one of my all time favorite designs. Sacco killed it with the body. I appreciate the positive comments! I put way too many hours in this listing.
I'm also getting with The MB Market to add pictures of the OE dealer purchased W208 fitted all-weather car cover and also the very period correct custom made car bra. All included in the sale.
Love this design, these are timeless esp in Silver
@Stuttgart_Steel Better to be safe than sorry. By far the best walkaround video. You got my attention. I still own my W202 C43 but I'd like to get my hands on one of these.
@pilotbrother2003 I would've loved to put a good track like that in there if I knew how YouTube copyright algorithms worked!
I was waiting for Highway to the Danger Zone to play in the background! She's a beauty.

Welcome to the auction! A little back story on the car -- I bought this about a year ago from an ex-president of the MBCA Peachtree division who bought this car new from RBM and has been enjoying it since. People who are part of the club in Atlanta will probably be familiar with this car! It was stored in his climate controlled basement for its whole life which I continued to do at my house. I have all the dealer documentation in a laminated binder from new with all the original sales literature, plus some. The paint is all original with a Graphene ceramic coat. I can upload paint meter readings if anyone expresses interest. I have undersides being uploaded by The MB Market sometime today including brake rotor and pad measurements. All the service invoices are uploaded for your viewing pleasure in the gallery. Please comment or PM me for additional questions or supplementary photographs. I'm also more than happy to chat on the phone if need be. I'm a small time Mercedes-Benz collector and have now officially owned all North American variants of the W208. Selling because I'm wanting to break into the pre-merge AMG market. Thanks everyone!
