This 1994 Mercedes-Benz S600 Coupe was sold new in Texas where it remained registered through 2013 when it was moved to California. The car shows 3 owners since new, California registration since 2013, and 51k miles. Finished in Spruce Green Metallic (249) over Creme Beige Leather (265), power is provided by a 6.0-liter M120 V12 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes a sliding sunroof, remote central locking, Adaptive Damping suspension with automatic level control, heated multicontour front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, the OEM Becker radio, and a Bose Beta audio system. The included carfax report shows 13 service history records, most of which show dealer servicing over the years. Recent services include an oil service, new transmission mounts, a transmission service, a new fuel pump and fuel filter, a cooling system service, a new thermostat and temperature sensor, a new mass airflow sensor harness, a throttle body service, new vacuum flap actuators, a new front right window regulator, and a new right door latch. This S600 Coupe is now offered for sale with the original manufacturer’s literature, both original keys, a fitted car cover, and a clean California title.
The pillarless body is finished in Spruce Green Metallic (249) with contrasting green lower body cladding. Exterior features include front fog lamps, headlamp wiper/washers, a power sliding sunroof, heated and power-adjustable door mirrors, pop-up reversing guides, dual-pane windows, soft-close doors and remote central locking. The Carfax report shows an accident reported in 2020 with little information given. The seller notes the rear of the car was repainted due to dealer badge removal and a small wrinkle in the body work with a photo provided in the gallery. Original "V12" badges are affixed to the rear pillars. A small chip in the windscreen is noted.
18” AMG Aero II Monoblock wheels are mounted and show 140-specific part numbers. Vredestein tires are mounted and measure 245/45 and 255/45 front to back with 2020 date codes shown. Original 8-hole wheels are included in the sale and wear Michelin tires installed in 2020. Photos of the original wheels are included.
The cabin is trimmed in Creme Beige Leather (265) with matching beige floor mats and headliner. Burl Walnut wood trim accents the center console, dash and door panels. Both front seats are heated with 12-way power adjustability, multicontour backrests and three-position memory. Interior amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a power-adjustable rear-view mirror and steering column, a power rear sunshade, power rear headrests, a 12-speaker Bose Beta audio system, and a Becker radio with a bluetooth audio retrofit. The Burl veneer has recently been refinished. The seller does note that rear rollerblind is inoperable.
The four-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel frames analog instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just over 51k miles from new.
This C140 is powered by a 6.0-liter M120 V12 which is rated for 389 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.

Hello @Britalia, as previously mentioned in the comments and in the video description, the SRS light turns off after 2 minutes. It is of no consequence, likely a sensor that does not affect SRS functionality. Please let me know if you have any other questions, thanks.
Hello, can you please advise regarding the red light on the dash in video 2, the driving video. Maybe the parking brake is partially on? Thx. Ken
Happy Sunday all, thanks for your interest so far in my S600. A quick update as we approach the close of auction. While waiting for the center console to receive its new veneer a few items came up which I'm addressing. After being in storage for a few weeks I noticed a wobble at around 50 mph. Wheel balancing didn't solve it so we've ordered a set of control arms (Lemforder I believe) which should take care of it; they arrive the middle of next week. When the shifter was reassembled and the console reinstalled, it appears that the metal piece that links B and 2 (at the lower most point of the gate, which activates the kickdown solenoid) went missing, leading the car to start in 1st gear, hold it for longer than usual, and then shift slightly more aggressively than usual all the way up to top gear. It still drives fine (and in fact it's refreshing to feel even more torque off the line) but we've ordered a replacement shifter that will address the issue. Finally, when the battery wouldn't hold a charge I had it replaced under warranty and had a new OEM (rebuilt) Bosch alternator installed. Everything electrical works flawlessly now (and the car passed smog with flying colors) except that the instrument panel cluster backlight does not illuminate when the lights are on. We are working on a solution and will either fix it before the sale or apply a credit toward the purchase price depending on repair timeline and what our mechanic says. I'll be traveling Monday late afternoon and the car will be in the capable hands of my mechanic, who can handover the vehicle to the new owner or shipping company. I'm happy to answer any questions in the meantime and provide a test drive or FaceTime tour before I leave town tomorrow. This car has been very good to me and drives beautifully. With proper maintenance it should provide many more miles of use for the next lucky owner. Thanks and happy bidding.

Saturday update: the S600 passed its California smog check with flying colors this morning and passed the 52,000 mile mark. Please DM to arrange a test drive or FaceTime tour this weekend.
@Herbie Thank you . What a great trio you've got. Enjoy!
Hello Basem, I just watched your video on the 400 SEL. You (and your spouse) described the car better than any advertisement from MB could have done it. It shows, that you love these S class cars and have taken care of them like I do. As long as you do regular maintenance, these cars will last forever. In my collection I have a 1997 S420, a 1994 S500, (originally owned by Dr. Frederick Flick, the biggest shareholder of Mercedes in the 90ties), and a 1998 CL600. The CL 600 is the best driving car of them all. The mileage over 7 years is better than 15 mpg. The buyer should be very happy with your car. Herbert from NC (not your mechanic)
For my fellow 140 enthusiasts, here's a piece I wrote about my late great '93 400 SEL: https://www.thedrive.com/guides-and-gear/even-as-a-cheap-used-car-the-w140-mercedes-benz-s-class-feels-special and here's a video wherein I defend the merits of 'The Dictator Car' with my wife: https://youtu.be/cS0xruA7l10?si=kieAQ5Smub2Qv50Z Cheers, Basem
@babtainy Hi , a little follow-up as you mentioned you're new to 140s. One of the biggest debates about 140s is pre or post-facelift. There are pluses and minuses to both. I love pre-facelift 140 sedans and coupes because in my view they feel a bit more special—they have higher quality interior materials, contrasting exterior lower cladding that sets them apart, and novel features like the power operated rearview mirror and so-called parking antennas that were abandoned by '96 and onward. Pre-facelift cars do have 4-speed transmissions (versus the 5-speed in '96 and later models) and the ignition systems on facelift V12s are easier to sort. I've had a great time with my '94 and have done my best to keep it running perfectly. It's actually needed less than the '93 400 SEL I owned for a while, which I suspect had sat quite a bit before I bought it and needed quite a bit of sorting, which became rather expensive. My advice is to find A) a spec/generation you're really excited about, and B) a solid car that's been sorted, which will save you loads of heartache down the road.

@Herbie Thank you and agree, these are great drivers and they only get better with regular use.

My 1998 CL600 with 78,000 miles is in similar condition. It is perhaps the best driver in my collection of 12 vintage Mercedes. This S600 Coupe is in stunning condition and the seller seems to have taken care of everything to make this one a reliable driver. The engine is very smooth and responsive to the throttle. I would bid on this car, if I would not already have one. The color makes it stand out of the crowd. Good luck to the buyer and the seller.
Hi all, thanks for your interest so far in my C140. After reinstalling the center console following veneer restoration (pictures added to gallery) the following items were addressed: • Alternator replaced (remanufactured Bosch OEM spec) • New battery installed • A/C freon topped off (no leak detected) • Wheels balanced Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a FaceTime tour or in-person test drive. Cheers.
Additional photos showing the refinished veneer have been added to the gallery.

Thank you @westnewportBB, and you're correct—the older photo of the car was filtered and a bit oversaturated. The color is more accurately represented in the other gallery photos. Regarding the work done, I had the rear painted and blended to the sides, as well as the hood and the bumpers so I could A) remove some nicks and B) remove the front license plate holes. My body shop guy is very talented and did a great job.

Beautiful big-body coupe here! The 18" wheels do look fitting on this car, but the purest in me wants to put the originals back on with some fresh rubber. Looking forward to hearing someone talk about the wiring harness on this vehicle; from the images it looks like it was replaced at some time in the not so distant past? Interior presents very well. Cool to see the old photo of the car, it almost looks to be different color body cladding back then, but it was probably an effect from the camera that makes it appear more 'teal green' ... to confirm this is an S600, and not a 600SEC (as mentioned in the 'market insights' section?) S600 coupe was new for 1994 ... Last Q: was the entire car repainted for the body work on the trunk? Or just the rear of the car?
@mikelaca Hi , photos 70-72 show the wiring harness.
@seller If you are able to take some up close photos of the engine wiring harness there are some experts on here that based on the way it looks can tell you if it's original or the newer non-degrading design

@babtainy Thank you . These pre-facelift 140s did have the wiring harness issue. While I haven't been able to obtain records dating back to new to verify whether it's been addressed or not, the harness appears to be in good shape (see photos 70-72). Incidentally I did have the mass airflow sensor harness replaced (receipts on pics 99 & 100).
Thanks @Boatymcboatface, completely agree. Speaking of undervalued, its $135k sticker price adjusted for inflation equates to nearly $300k today (!)
Nice car… new to the w140, question, 1994. Does it have the harness issue similar to the R129? Sl600?
Beautiful C140 V12 in a great color combo. Really wonderful condition and great records. The V12 coupe is really the best way to experience the M120 out of the S, SL, CL. I have all three and the CL time is just right. These are very under-valued. SRS light could be 14 different things and if it goes off its nothing to worry about. Hope it does well.
Hi @jimseeger, thanks for the note and good question. As mentioned in the video description, the SRS light turns off about 2 minutes after the car has been started. Based on my research it's considered a non-critical fault, likely from the seatbelt sensor going out. As the seatbelt still functions as it should and the light goes out, I have left it as is. Please feel free to ask any other questions and, if you're local and interested in seeing the car in person, let me know.
Red light on dash in driving video. Please describe or explain. TIA
