The exterior is finished in Iridium Silver Metallic (775) and features a full front-end 3M clear bra covering the bumper, fenders, hood, and side mirrors. The seller notes some chips and imperfections in the clear bra and the paint remains well preserved underneath. @Highheat From what I’ve seen they were strong transmissions. I’ve got the same set up in my 07 E63 wagon with 108k miles and it still drives perfect. Very noticeable difference between Comfort and Sport too.
Was the seven-speed AMG Speedshift Plus pretty dependable by 2007. Seems like some of the early (non AMG) 7 speeds had some issues.

I rarely see a CLS on the road and I'm a sucker for rare specs...especially when it's an AMG. Might have to give up my 211 for this.
The grey leather on this MASSIVELY underrated. Very cool P30, wish I could afford to buy. GLWTA!

@nosubstut I honestly don’t know as I have only owned it since last summer, but the car sits level and rides great in all three suspension modes
Beautiful car and spec! When was the air suspension system last serviced?

Gorgeous machine! The M156 is my favorite AMG engine by far. The days of the naturally aspirated big displacement V8s are slowly fading but this is what a true AMG is all about. Not only is this a stunning design, all M156 AMG's are going to bring strong values as time goes on. We'll be looking back wondering why we didn't get them while they were still affordable.
@jcd214 yes only the tune and filters are Weistec. Headers are OBX (some of the better ones with very nice welds and perfect fitment). I am a mechanic and did the work myself as this is a pretty straight forward bolt on modification, not difficult just time consuming. I do have the original parts to reinstall as well (cats and resonator). Wouldn’t think head bolts have ever been changed as it only has 39,000 original miles and no engine issues. I did install new engine and transmission mounts when I did the exhaust work, not because they needed done, but since loosening them was part of the header install process I did it just to ensure they won’t need replaced any time in the near future.

“reVVed to show maximum sound”
@219AMG Thanks for your response. Are the headers also from Weistec, or only the tune? If so, what brand are the headers? Did you do the work yourself? And do you still have the factory parts? I did search YouTube before I posted my request for a vid. All the clips there are either of cars being revived to show maximum sound or also have the weistec supercharger installed. So a video clip would be helpful if you could. Also, have the headbolts been replaced? I appreciate it.
@jcd214 The crack is just a small hairline from too to bottom as I have seen many pictures of this same model do. I have tried to research what has causes it and to my understanding I think the wood underneath the clearcoat somewhat moves and shrinks during climate changes due to its thin thickness and cracks to clear on top. I’m thinking it is only cracked on the clear as it is not openly separating, only a small hairline crack you can feel with your finger nail. In certain light you cannot see it, but when the sun hits it a certain way you can.
@jcd214 Thank you for the inquiry. As for the history I have only owned this since august of last year so other than the Carfax I really don’t know. As far as the number of previous owners I can’t say as to why other than it is 17 years old and people’s needs and tastes change. I did the performance upgrades about 1,000 miles ago and it really made a huge difference in acceleration over stock. I don’t have any videos to show the sound but it pretty much sounds like any of the other 219 Cls63’s in the youtube videos with the same mods. Cold start naturally is louder than stock but much more mellow when it kicks down into idle and just cruising through town. The headers and pipes come much more alive on hard accelerations. Hope this helps.
@219a,g - also, is the dash crack just in the lacquer or in the wood itself? Do you know how that happened? Thanks.
@219amg - it is a beautiful looking ride. It’s changed hands a LOT. Any insight on its history or service records other than what’s indicated on the Carfax? Do you know if the head bolts have been replaced? Could you provide cold start, idle, and cruising videos so we can hear the effect of the headers? What is the mileage like with the headers and the tune? Much thanks.

I’ve got an AMG convertible, so a 4-door might be fun.
