In recent decades the station wagon has graduated from family grocery getter to sophisticated and tasteful carry-all. For enthusiasts, the “performance wagon” has always been the ideal family car or one-car-garage blending utilitarian convenience with staggering speed and handling. At the top of this touring pyramid is the AMG Wagon for all the right reasons: power, speed, convenience, and rarity. This example specifically stands out for a few reasons beyond the extensive amount of service and maintenance that's been performed. Very few examples came in Cirrus White and the mileage is also notably low. The AMG wheels, tune, and fantastic sound of this free-flowing M156 should be tempting. Ask any M156 owner and moreover, the few lucky enough to own an E63 Wagon, and all would agree: Now is the time to buy one of these oh-so-rare AMG longroofs before the low mileage examples are all scooped up for the long haul.

@Lefty439 and @Rosqvist I have asked @admin to connect me with you but they are not responding to emails.... So it is posted for sale again on Kijiji and will be on another auction site shortly. Thanks
If there are unique parts on the graymarket car, USA dealers won't sell them without proof of ownership. While registration is the typical proof needed, any other proof of ownership will also suffice. Alternately, buy the verboten parts from Europe. In years past this would typically cause problems when trying to obtain Euro-spec headlights/lenses, or emissions-related items. Obtaining repair parts is very different than importing to USA and getting the car road legal in USA, when less than 25 years old.
@gsxr That's the problem. If you cannot register the car due to US government regulations on imports, than you cannot get parts for it here since it cannot be registered as is. So many parts and systems have to be modified to make it pass US rules. Not worth the hassles. Better to wait until a car is 25+ years old and then can bring it in with no restrictions.
@Lefty439 I have asked admin to connect us if you are still interested
@Eyedoc1985, with a European VIN, any Mercedes dealer in the USA can and will sell you parts for the "imported" car. But you need to provide proof of ownership (registration should be sufficient). If you were told otherwise, your source was wrong.
@silversun262 yes I agree, thanks again
Wow. Surprised it didn’t go higher. If it was a US spec car Im sure 40k+
Sooooo close!! Thank you all again, great experience with The MB Market thanks again!

I would have bid on this unusual vehicle but being that it is originally from outside of North America, almost impossible to get it into US and meet EPA and USHTA rules. Even if you can do everything required the cost is prohibitive. I almost bought a super clean 2005 E55 AMG Wagon in Europe to bring to US. Did the research and probably would have spent more than the car would be worth even if successfully converted and certified. Can brin in the cars older than 25 years with no problems. Also the local Mercedes dealer told me that with the European Vin, they couldn't even sell me parts for it. Too bad. Very nice cars over there.

@wagonsrock Thats what I thought, thank you for confirming.
@silversun262 as this is a Japanese Market vehicle there isn’t a emissions control sticker under the hood.

Seller can you add picture of the emissions control label?

166 came to USA total. I have a color interior/exterior breakdown. 11 white ones listing "650 Arctic White" as only white, but looks the same as this and perhaps just a different name for different market as MB has done many times -confusing everyone. Out of the 11 white wagons 4 with black and 7 with brown/tan interior 07-09'. I have a 09" in white with tan/brown interior. Fun car and so useful. Little kids love the third-row.
And thanks again to @AMGmeister as he showed me where to get MB production numbers and only 726 Worldwide E63 Wagon - 211 Chassis vehicles were produced, very rare.
@AMGmeister - Thank you for the bid, and thank you for your Channel it is amazing. Thanks again!
Want to bid, but want AMGmeister content more. Great channel! One of my go-tos when I need education or just a quick AMG fix.
@wagonsrock Yeah, that's me. Thanks for the startup video.

Added are paint measurements; Car VX (Carfax) for this Japanese market vehicle that shows that it only had one owner before myself and the auction sheet I used to purchase the vehicle which was a 4.5 Grade. A video of the engine at start up and walkaround will be added as well. Thank you
@AMGmeister I will get one tonight/tomorrow for you as I have stored right now. I have to ask, are you 'The" AMGmeister? And thank you for the bid!
Could you post a cold start video showing the engine bay during the cold start? Thanks!

Good Day all, thank you for all the comments so far, as I will answer any questions you have. As for importing to the US, thank you @silversun262 has a lot of great information and is correct it is not an easy process, but can apply for Show and Display status but is limited to how many miles it can do a year. @alta4 thank you for the comments as the vehicle came with extensive service history and I have included with pictures with date and kms to verify the low mileage. Japan there is CAR VX, which is like our CARFAX and will add this to the auction, just waiting for it to populate. I also completed measurements of paint of all panels indicating that should be added shortly to the auction. I will continue to monitor this if there is any other questions or needs, thanks again.
Very impressive these M156 long-roofs are. I have an Alpine White 09' with tan interior. Great cars and hope there is a way to bring in to USA. It's a shame their are so many nonsensical importation hurdles for so many cars. It should be easy for anything over 10 yrs old, but our legislator have better things to like starting wars and deficit spending.
What is the cost and process to import into the United States?
Disclaimer, I am not an expert, but have been researching this kind of import recently. This will be next to impossible to get this to the USA legally at a reasonable cost. 1. Must be imported by a "RI" Registered Importer 2. Must post a large bond with CBP - Likely 1.5 times the imported value 3. Must either A) get a letter from MFG stating it meets US EPA standards, (Good luck) or B) have it modified then tested/inspected to meet US EPA Emission standards. 4. Pay import taxes 5. Register in US state At this point, out of pocket cost will likely be much much more than the US value of the car. The time it will take will be 1-2 years. There is a "SHOW VEHICLE" option to get by the EPA Emissions part, but that line is quite long too and no guarantee it will be accepted. There are bond requirements here too, and obviously you wont be able to legally register it to drive it on public roads. EDIT - If I have any of this incorrect, please feel free to post corrections. This is my knowledge based on reading these pages https://www.epa.gov/importing-vehicles-and-engines https://www.nhtsa.gov/importing-vehicle
Anyone have a sense of how costly and/or difficult this would be to bring into the US?
Not sure if this can be titled in USA until it's 25 years old, without paying a small fortune in import fees...? Great car for Canadian buyers though!
Love this wagon. As a Japanese import, obviously no CarFax available. Is there any way to feel comfortable about how many previous owners, repair invoices, accidents or paintwork? Thx
Would love to see this come stateside but the logistics of getting a JDM Mercedes from 07 across the boarder have me a bit concerned. Any insight?
