This 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300GD was originally ordered and sold for the French domestic market and shows importation to the United States in August 2022 by the selling dealer. The G-Wagen is offered with 34,296 kilometers (TMU) shown on the odometer and is located in Jacksonville, Florida. The truck is finished in gloss green paint over green and beige plaid cloth seats with beige leatherette trimming. Power is provided by an OM617 Inline-5 diesel engine paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. Notable features include dual-speed four wheel drive, a dual-speed transfer case, manual-wind windows, front and rear locking differentials, and a rear bench seat. This 300GD is now offered by the importing dealer with importation records, manufacturer’s literature, one key, and a clean Florida title.
The 300GD reportedly left the factory finished in Mango Green and has since been refinished in the current gloss green paint under prior ownership. Body filler is mentioned under the rear tail lamps and some bubbles are noted under the paint on the left quarter panel. Factory bumpers are shown along with a soft spare tire cover, rubber mud flaps, and light guards over the head lamps. Minor wear can be seen on the body and the seller has provided detailed photos of the exterior in addition to a video walk-around.
Original 16” steel wheels are shown finished in silver paint with matching center caps. The wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion tires measuring 225/75 at all four corners with light cracking reported by the seller.
The cabin displays green and beige plaid seats with beige leatherette trimmings along the seat sides, door cards, and rear bench seat. The dashboard, steering wheel, and center console are finished in black with aftermarket black leatherette shift boots on the gearshift and transfer case controls. An aftermarket head unit has been installed with auxiliary inputs. Wear can be seen in the rear interior trim panels including worn paint, various scratches and a hole in the rear left.
The 3.0L OM617 inline-5 diesel was factory rated at 87 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque when new with power sent to all four wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The selling dealer does not have service records for the 300GD but reports all mechanical functions are operational.
The included Carfax report shows only history while in the United States and reports importation and registration in August 2022. This 300GD is now offered by the importing dealer with importation records, manufacturer’s literature, one key, and a clean Florida title.
A video walk-around, interior tour, cold start, and underside look have been provided by the seller below.

@BradH I actually purchased the car from Belgium but from what I understand, based on the registration document, it was first registered there in 2021 so I am assuming it had been in France before that. Without odometer working it is hard to say how many miles I drove it, but perhaps less than 100. Becasue of my driving routine (taking kids to school, etc) it would be difficult for me to drive it on daily basis.

How much has it been driven since the August importation? Was it bought from France? Any other history available? Thanks!

@Jthomasson there is no exhaust leak. It is an older diesel so it sounds a little louder, but I can assure you it is normal. I will not be able to take a drive video before the listing ends. If you had requested it earlier, I would have been no problem. The car drives fine and doesn't appear to have any issues.
Thanks for the response - any chance we can see a driving video? Is there an exhaust leak? It sounds a little loud.
@Jthomasson the entire movement of the front driver's seat is pretty significant and about 7". When I moved it all the way forward, I had hard time getting out of the car; that's how close the seat was to the steering wheel, and I am not very tall by any means (about 5'9"). I don't think you will even need to move it all the way to the front to be able to reach the pedals. Also, I do not see seatbelts for the rear.
Couple of questions - does the driver seat slide forward? If so, how much? I am 5'2" so I need to be able to slide the seat up to reach the pedals in a manual car. I see in the pictures it is all the way back. Also, does the rear seat have seatbelts?

@jlung LOL. yeah, they are not rocket ships for sure but cool to drive regardless
This might be one of the most attractive seat patterns we've run across.
As slow as these are you don't really need a speedo either!
@jlung no they don't which is mentioned in the description.
Do the fuel gauge and tachometer work? In the interior and engine start video, it appears that they do not.
@38zfx That is correct
So no A/C or sunroof?

@MBstyle there are no convertions necessary in the US for cars that are 25 years old or older. You can bring it back to Europe, no problem
