I hate to be a total pain, but these are NORS, not NOS; production didn't move to the Czech Republic until after German reunification (the Czech Republic did not exist yet...) and thus well after W113 production had ended. In a show setting, judges probably wouldn't get nosey enough to pop one of these off and note the lack of a yellow "BOSCH Germany" sticker on the inside of the metal frame nor the fact that the back of the reflectors, which were bare metal on NOS units, are painted black on the NORS units - but in a pre-purchase inspection or an assessment by an auction house, those details would likely come to light. Are these excellent candidates for a show-quality restoration? Absolutely. But in absolute point of fact, they are not technically period-correct replacements.
Image #79 shows the driver’s door handle; there is a small rectangle on the pull, adjacent to the key blade hole. Mask around this rectangle and wet-sand it with 3,000-grit paper, then apply the lightest coat of non-ceramic liquid wax. More than half the time, this cures the non-op remote fob. The rectangle is the sensor screen for the infrared signal from the fob.
Just FYI, the description mentioned an airbag but this is a pre-airbag W126 wheel (and a very nice one, GLWA!)
Bueller?!? I am going to go ahead and assume that this only fits Gen-1 Euro sedans unless I hear otherwise!
Curious about fitment since the gen-1 W126 was not manufactured for all of the years listed; is the part FOR a first-gen Euro sedan or were there two generations of front air dams made? This info is so spotty for all period aero parts (AMG, BBS, Lorinser, etc.) and I can’t find a definitive resource. Thank you very much in advance! (I have a Euro 1987 SE, hence my very specific question)
