This 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Cabriolet was sold new in Ohio to the original owner who owned the car until 2019 when it was acquired by the current owner. The car is finished in Ruby Metallic (572) over Beige leather (265) and powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a power-retractable black soft top, factory eight-hole 15″ alloy wheels, headlight wipers, power-adjustable and heated front seats, cruise control, and automatic climate control. This A124 now shows only 25k miles and is being represented by the seller on behalf of the current owner. A thorough inspection was completed in July 2022 by Mercedes-Benz of Massapequa and an oil service was performed in accord with routine factory services. This E-class cabriolet is now offered with two keys, factory literature, partial service records, the original window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title.
The car is finished in Ruby Metallic (572) with matching bumpers and lower body cladding. Features include a black power-operated soft top, headlight wipers, power-adjustable side mirrors, and a power antenna. The black soft top features an electrically-heated glass rear window. All body panels are original and align evenly as supported by the clean Carfax report.
Factory 15″ eight-hole alloy wheels were professionally refinished in 2019 and retain their factory brushed finish. The wheels are mounted with brand new Continental TrueContact tires measuring 195/65 all around with 2018 date codes. The seller states the tires were replaced due to age upon their acquisition but still has the original tires in storage. The car is equipped with Acceleration Skid Control (ASR) as well as four-wheel disc brakes.
The seats are upholstered in Beige leather (265) with matching Beige carpets and original floor mats throughout and features burl wood trim on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. The wood trim remains free from cracks or fading. Additional features include heated and power-adjustable front seats with memory functions, automatic climate control, and cruise control. Photos of the car with the top in both the up and down position are provided in the gallery.
The airbag-equipped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, along with gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer now shows just over 25k miles and the original needles still show in factory orange.
The 3.2-liter M104 inline-six was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque when new and sends power to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. Partial service records will accompany the car and a thorough inspection was completed in July 2022 by Mercedes-Benz of Massapequa and an oil service was performed in preparation for the sale.
The Carfax report lists no accidents or damage along with two registered owners since new. This E-class cabriolet is now offered with two keys, factory literature, partial service records, the original window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title.
A video below shows the top in operation.
With an original MSRP of $81,745 in 1995, this E320 Cabriolet was more expensive than many S-class models at the time. These cars are one of the very few true four-seater convertibles on the market and it’s an absolute rarity to find one in this condition with such low mileage. It’s evident how passionate the former and current owners have been about this car. The car has lived a pampered life and always remained garaged when not in use. The owner also states that every measure has been taken to avoid driving the car in any type of inclement weather, hence the remarkably low mileage. In September 2022, the owner presented the car at the Mercedes-Benz Club of America NYC-Long Island Section Great Marques Concours where it won first place in the W124 class. Photos of the car on display and the trophy are shown in the gallery. The paint remains in excellent condition along with the leather and woodgrain with no cracks or fading. We absolutely love the Ruby Metallic paint over Beige combination which commands a premium for rarity. Examples like this do not come along often and we’re confident this Cabriolet is sure to stand out in the market and on the road.

@Donkster - thank you for your positive comments. I've spoken to the winning bidder and he seems very excited. That's great. Best to you and the donkeys.
Incredibly strong showing for a very beautiful car. Kudos to the seller and all the bidders as well as the web host crew for keeping it positive and timely in posting the information. I’m sad this one got away from me but it blew right past my budget for adding a 12th 124 to my garage, They are wonderful cars and I hope a few more come by to both ogle and share thoughts with the very knowledgeable here at The MB Market. Donkster, and yes I do love donkeys

So you don’t want to show anyone you’re service records? Everyone one watching are possibly serious bidders I’ve already bid and requested to post the service history and it hasn’t been posted
@joeybenz08 - This is 100 % original/unrestored car and it is how it came from the factory and that's the way it's supposed to be. The next owner can easily replace those few bolts. Originality wins trophies. Service records can be provided privately to serious bidders.

You say the car was well maintained but you haven’t post any service records? Also the car won concourse benz show but has rusty undercarriage screws/bolts?

@donkster - thanks for the compliment. I appreciate that. I'm hoping that the bidding frenzy begins at some point soon. What do you think?
Again, thank you for being a conscientious seller. The photos are very helpful. The information will go a long way to making this an excellent auction for both the seller and bidders.
Additional pictures of the interior have been added to the gallery.
Thank you for answering my questions. Very much aooreciated

Thank you for this bit of information. I am looking forward to seeing some photos of the areas I have requested. I am also wanting to know; Dash and interior rheostat for the light brightness operable? Dash vent intact and functioning or jammed or broken? Rear window defrost functioning? Front seat locking mechanism functioning ( safety feature) clock and ALL gauges functioning? Headlight wipers functioning? HVAC in auto mode working? Transitioning from heat to air to defrost all properly functioning?Sterring column adjuster working? Can the cruise control be tested? Are there stains at the power top area at the pivot point on the headliner or is that a lighting artifact? Speaker fader working? Headed seats both bottom and back working at both settings on both seats? Clock? Central Locking system functioning? If pre-arranged can the car be taken to have a complete and thorough full inspection at my expense? As I look over my 124's I may have a few more questions. I am an avid fan and not too long ago won an auction here for a 1995 Cab Thank you Donkster
@donkster - according to the owner: - seat extenders work - cruise control - owner never uses it (on any of his cars) - so can't confirm 100% - antenna motor works but stalk does not extend (replacement approx. $275) - radio still works he also notes that the: - Drivers power seat not functioning. Mercedes dealer tested the motor and it checks out fine. Possible power seat control module mal-function
Good Day. I was hoping that you could take and add some photos of the top of the windshield to include if possible the handle for pulling the top into position, the “mini control” panel which includes the reading/map lights and the switches. Also photos of the visors both with the lids open and mirror and lights as well as the area where the visor plastic cover is. There are areas of plastic trim around the seat bottoms. Does the following work probably; cruise control, automatic antennae, auto volume control on the radio, seat belt extenders and the small triangle the belts sit in. Between the front seats on the console is a storage some describe as a “cassette” box” can you photo that as the vinyl has a tendency to shrink up as well as the A pillar cover. Thank you Donkster

@manualfangio_g - Thanks. very prudent advice.
Can you post all of the service history thanks Joe
@ronsusser Thanks for your reply. As an FYI to others who may be new to this model, low miles or babying the car has no relation to whether or not the harness will need to be replaced. Short answer is, they all need to be replaced as the wire sheathing is soy and biodegradable. Mine looked fine from the outside (54K miles) and when it was pulled you could see how it was falling apart inside the harness even though it wasn't causing issues yet. It's getting harder and harder to find used ones, and in particular the specific ones for this engine. They run about $1200-$1500 used for the harness alone! My reco for anyone buying one is get one now even if they engine isn't running poorly yet so you have one handy. Once it's done, you're good and these are truly fabulous cars.
@joeybenz08 - I'll provide a reply although as @AMG5pt4 points out, it's kind of a moot point (the wiring harness that is). According to the owner: When I purchased the car, I asked dealer to do a thorough inspection and especially the wiring. I only got an oral report. In addition, annual oil service were done. Initially also had fuel pump replaced and radio repaired. I think it's clear by the pictures and write-up that this is a beautiful, low mileage, well maintained, great color combination E320 cabriolet. Remember that you are welcome to inspect the car (or have it inspected) in the Long Island, NY area anytime.
Most people who are looking at this car or an A124 Cab know all about the wiring harness issue. This car is low mileage, so more than likely has never had any engine work done. The issues crop up when the wiring is moved and then the insulation crumbles (replace a 27 year old water pump and thermostat or similar repair). The fact that inspections have been made is irrelevant - this car has a junk harness that will have to be replaced at some point. Figure that into the buy price. The upper harness for this car is NLA so you have to find a used one for sale - and it has to exactly match what this car's harness P/N and spec - especially the ASR option which was not very common for E320's. Replacing the harness is not difficult - finding a correct one may be. But, what a gorgeous Cab with rare and beautiful colors. This would be one to buy and care for despite the harness and hydraulic cylinders upcoming maintnenance costs.
Someone asked you about the bio wiring harness and you said that the car was inspected annually at the Mercedes-Benz dealership can you post those annual inspections reports thanks Joe
@joeybenz08 - I can't explain prior owner driving habits. Doesn't look suspect to me at all. I think you're reading too far into this. Bottom line, I can't be responsible for how the prior owner drove the car. Car currently has +/- 25,240 on it. That's all that matters.
The carfax looks suspect 7-20-01 21 miles at 6 years old, 7-17-03 22,000 miles all of a sudden they drive 22,000 miles in 2 years? And then only 1,000 miles in 4 years? 15 years later only a couple thousand miles? How does that happen I would like to know and the car was only at a Benz dealership a couple times back to back for a service 25 days apart
$15,250 bid placed by @JoeyBenz08
@manualfangio_g - owner has no records of top or wiring being repaired or replaced but he has the car checked at the MB dealer annually and both are fine. No issues and no needs according to the dealer inspection.
As a fellow A124 owner, this one looks good and I love the exterior color. You rarely see anything beyond the silver, black, white and dark blue. Do you have any info on bio wiring harness being replaced for the Delphi one (they're getting harder to find and also $$$$)? Any work done on the roof hydraulics, or gaskets? GLWA!
