This 2005 Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG is one of only 142 examples reportedly produced for the US market in the model year. It was first registered in Minnesota with subsequent registrations noted in Florida, Colorado, and California. The car currently shows 85k miles since new. Finished in Pewter Metallic (723) over Charcoal Exclusive Leather (581), power is provided by a 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12 paired with a five-speed AMG SpeedShift automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Features include ABC active suspension, Keyless-Go, heated and ventilated multicontour front seats, an electronic trunk closer, a Bose surround sound system and much more. The included Carfax report shows 20 service history records since new. An oil service and checkup was performed in January of 2025 and it is current on emissions in California. A Kleemann ECU tune is installed for a horsepower and torque increase. This CL65 AMG is now offered for sale by the current owner with the original tool kit, spare tire, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The exterior is finished in Pewter Metallic (723) and features AMG styling including a sculpted front and rear bumper, side skirts and quad chrome AMG exhaust tips. Exterior features include bi-xenon headlamps, a heated windshield washer system, a power-closing trunk and a power operated glass sunroof. The seller notes light scuff marks on the front bumper. The driver door, driver quarter, and passenger quarter show light scratches after key marks were noticed. A professional paint correction was performed along with re-applied clear coat.
Fitted are the factory staggered 19” AMG twin-spoke multi-piece alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tires measuring 245/40 front and 275/35 rear. Date codes on the tires show 2024. AMG 8-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers are painted silver with AMG lettering and are mounted with two-piece ventilated discs.
The cabin is trimmed in Charcoal Exclusive Leather (581) while Burl Walnut wood trim lines the center console and door panels. Both front seats are heated and ventilated and feature dynamic multicontour seatbacks. Interior amenities include an upgraded steering wheel, Keyless-Go, a power rear window blind, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose surround sound system, COMAND infotainment with navigation, power folding rear headrests and a 6-disc CD changer.
The OEM leather steering wheel fronts a 220-mph speedometer with a floating needle alongside a tachometer, fuel level indicator and coolant temperature gauge. A configurable digital display sits in the center and is accompanied on either side by digital displays for the outside temperature and a digital clock. The digital odometer reads 85k miles.
This C215 is powered by an AMG-tuned 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12 which was hand assembled and signed by Volker Hagg and was rated at 604 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque from the factory. This example features a Kleemann engine tune increasing numbers to 692 horsepower and 853 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed AMG SpeedShift automatic transmission. The included Carfax report shows 20 service history records since new. An oil service and checkup was performed in January of 2025 and it is current on emissions in California.
The Carfax reports five owners from new along with linear mileage updates and no accidents or damage reported. This CL65 AMG is now offered for sale by the current owner with the original tool kit, spare tire, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

@300GWRO REAL carbon fiber.
$11,750 bid placed by @Mgtotheb
@Seller...or commentators...; Anyone know if the engine cover housing is Carbon Fiber or "plastic"?...it has that "exposed CF cross-hatch" look seen circa early 2000's. Thank you

@MercedesDad The radiator was replaced in 2019, thanks for raising that. I have forwarded the receipt to the admin to post here.
@Whisk18 Sorry, just catching up on messages.... the front struts do not collapse anymore. Not sure if this had anything to do with it, but between abc fluid replacement and a new battery, the problem did not recur. The front suspension is firm and responds as intended with and without abc mode ON.
Per the repair record dated 2/2025 regarding the suspension collapsing- the R/F strut has not been replaced, correct? At this point is the suspension still collapsing, and if so is it only at the R/F

I’ve always had a soft spot for anything with a "V12 Biturbo" badge on its side. Painfully expensive if you skip services — like “cry yourself to sleep” expensive — but when properly cared for, it’s pure magic: silky, brutal, and completely addictive. So addictive I've been daily driving one (in an S-Class) for 5 years straight. Still sitting atop the food chain, decades after their debut. It’s good to see that banks 7–12 were done about 7 years and 15,000 miles ago. That’s reassuring... but personally, I’d still budget to have both sides done. Also worth checking: the radiator fan assembly (they tend to give up with age, not miles) and the door soft-close mechanisms — because slamming a door on a 65 is like slamming the door of a palace... uncivilized. Clean 65s are dangerously addictive. Drive one, and suddenly everything else feels like a rental car. If this one's priced right, I’d happily daily it for the next 20 years — and smile every time I start it, even if it bankrupts me.

@Mgtotheb I will forward the receipt from previous owner for the ignition coil (1 bank), ignition coil module and catalytic converter replacement to admin to be posted. WRT the spark plugs, when the car was inspected for CEL, spark plugs were confirmed to be in good order.
@Mgtotheb It's chipped paint, I was planning to powder coat at some point but never got around. Shame on me. I can have this done if the buyer so prefers.
Also, any record of ignition Coils, Ignition Module, and spark plugs being done?
What’s going on with the front lower grill? Is there something stuck in it, is it dented, or is it scratched?

@bhenry3 I own a well maintained super high mileage CL600 as well. The CL65 has a special feel, hands-down. The only reason I am selling this CL65 is it's not bright silver, which all of my cars are. Otherwise I would hold it on to it tight. Granted that I add 1000-2000 miles a year on any of my 23 cars, the CL600 has held up pretty good for 5-6 years now, only needing a minor hose replacement and a new thermostat. You are right in that you can get 80% of the CL65 with the CL600. Now, I don't imagine anyone buying this low mileage example for a daily driver. While maintenance is not cheap, $10k a year you mention has no basis unless you have it consigned to the dealer for every minor thing, in my humble experience.
I owned a 2004 CL600 which is basically the same car just detuned a bit with 30k. Was the most expensive repair bills of any car I have ever owned. Great wolf in sheeps clothing and SO FUN to drive, but the best day of my life was seeing it drive away. I would budget at least 10k per year for repairs and you will be ready for a great car. This car was the fastest most expensive car in 2005-2006 at around 200k so understand you are driving around in a 200k+ in parts that cost insane prices to fix.
Thank you
@300GWRO Thanks for the comments. The quick & easy fix is with double sided tape. I included the picture to disclose as-it-is.
@Motts71 Yes, coil pack 7-12 was replaced in 2018 at 70,763 miles, prior to my ownership. Yes, abc system has fresh fluid. 1x partial container is stored in the trunk.

Let’s go!
Have the coil paks. been replaced? Has the ABC system been serviced?
Have always appreciated the absolute power that this engine produced & the elegant pillar-less coupe design. Never been big fan of front "face" from this era...yet a rare & desirable AMG highwater mark. This looks fairly clean with usual nicks, smudges & chips. Is the Drivers side seat/window control panel beginning to pull away from its' position? Always bit of gamble these as Big $ headaches can be Fast 'n Furious ...thus service records / VMI of utmost importance. This car at right price would be great value & fun to own Best
