This 2020 Mercedes-AMG A35 Hatchback is being relisted after not meeting reserve in an auction on The MB Market in January of 2023 . It was originally sold to the first owner in Ontario, Canada in March of 2020. The current owner purchased the car in April 2022 and subsequently moved it to the United States where it’s now titled and registered. The car is finished in Denim Blue Metallic (667) over a Black/Anthracite (651) Alcantara trimmed cabin. Power is provided by an AMG-tuned turbocharged 2.0L Inline 4-Cylinder linked with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Notable Options include the AMG Aerodynamics Package, AMG Night Package, Heated Front Seats, Blind Spot Assist, and an AMG Steering Wheel. Additional upgrades include an AMG A45 Grille, an Eventuri Black Carbon Intake, and an Armytrix Downpipe. This A35 is now offered by the current owner with 32k miles on the odometer, records and receipts, manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.
The A35 is finished in Denim Blue Metallic (667) and features more aggressive ground effects from AMG in addition to the AMG Aerodynamics Package including a larger front splitter, a pair of front canards, a more prominent rear diffuser, and the raised rear wing. Additionally, this A35 is equipped with the AMG Night Package showing black accents around the windows and exterior trim. Notable exterior features include a Panoramic glass roof, LED headlamps, and an upgraded grille from the AMG A45. The included Carfax report shows minor damage reported to the front of the car in 2021 with no additional information reported. Detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery.
The A35 shows original 19” multi-spoke AMG wheels finished in Satin Black paint with matching center caps. Pirelli P-Zero tires measuring 235/35 at all four corners show 2019 date codes. Braking is handled by silver-finished AMG calipers over cross-drilled rotors.
The cabin is upholstered in Black/Anthracite (651) Alcantara across the seats and steering wheel. Red deviated stitching is shown on the seat centers, armrest, and accents with Aluminum trim shown across the dashboard and door cards. Additional features include heated front seats, a split folding rear bench, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless CarPlay, and an AMG steering wheel. Driving aids include blind-spot monitoring, Parktronic parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system.
The multifunction AMG Performance steering wheel is wrapped in alcantara and black leather with aluminum finishings and red stitching. The wheel frames a digital display with defaults for a 180 mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and readouts for various trip functions. Additional displays include navigation, multimedia, phone connectivity, and AMG performance readouts. The digital odometer indicates just over 32k miles.
The turbocharged 2.0L M260 inline-4 was rated from the factory at 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The added Armytrix downpipe and Eventuri intake reportedly add an additional 30-40 horsepower over stock and the downpipe has a built-in cat simulator compatible with the car.
This A35 is now offered by the current owner with 32k miles on the odometer, records and receipts, manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report showing linear mileage updates, and a clean Montana title.

@JMRIEGEL Completely agree. This has such a nicer low stance and wide rear view than the GLA.
I wish we got these and the 45s in the states, such a cooler car than the GLA. GLWA! Cool color and spec, and valuable high dollar modifications. Someone will be getting a great and unique car here!
@mbnerd22 Thank you for the positive observation!
@amge63swagon Your garage alone tells me I'm safe on this. Love it!

@teleskier Hi. The car is not available in the states which is why I had to import it. I own several cars, most are with Montana plates but I do live in Dallas. My SLS is straight piped, super charged, I own a 997 Porsche that is tuned as well. My previous 2018 Mercedes AMG E63S wagon which sold on carsandbids was also straightpiped and cat delete. I don't keep my cars OEM nor do most of my car friends so its just a matter of choice. If you would like to see the car in person its available. Thank you.
I want to love this, but the import via Canada, Montana plates, for sale in TX, and cat delete are giving me pause. A simple inspection of the car at any TX shop with a PASS would not create any title paperwork and may really sit well here. I am also in TX

@Saeo The previous owner stated it was a bumper scratch and filed with the insurance to have it repaired. I also had it inspected with my local Mercedes Repair Specialist and they found no evidence of replaced parts. I don't have many details on it since it happened in Canada. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks!
Can you speak to the accident/damage listed in 2021; any info on that?
@dm_n_stuff Thank you, I stand corrected. I was looking for s silver lining in the clouds, but I goofed. I think a high flow cat would help to pass an emissions test(?) but still would not allow the sale .
@Gene_B Substituting a high flow cat is also illegal. EPA requires original or equivalent. Only way around it is if there is no original or equivalent still available on the market.
@dm_n_stuff Thank you. I see this sort of thing a lot in my car club and while I understand the desire for performance, those catalytic converters are there for a reason. It might be worth noting that there are high-flow cats on the market that are the best of both worlds so to speak. The more you know....
@Gene_B I brought this issue to the attention of the folks here this week and was advised to contact the seller. You are 100% correct, it doesn't matter if it's a dealer or an individual trying to sell this car, once the original cat has been removed title can't transfer legally. It's a Federal Law that applies, above and beyond any state regulations. There are EPA rules, Federal and State DOT rules that all apply. Add to that the required paperwork showing it entered legally into the USA as an import, which may also be required by your state to transfer the title. Would seem to be a relatively simple task to reinstall the cat prior to selling, and offer the aftermarket parts as part of the deal, thereby eliminating the issue, along with copied of the importation papers.
@Gene_B Thanks for the information Gene.
@amge63swagon I appreciate that but if the car is in Texas, selling or offering to sell with any part that would circumvent an emission control system is prohibited. By law, the car must have the proper factory emissions equipment or equivalent installed. The only exceptions would be cars that are for off-road use only, or of course older cars that were originally manufactured without catalytic converters. Hopefully the MB Market is aware of this.
@Gene_B Thanks for the info. I do have the stock cat so the option of reversing it back to OEM is up to the new buyer. I would recommend if you are bidding on it to decide if you are ok going back to stock. I hope this helps!
ariotofmyown, sumofall I live in Texas and the statute reads as follows: The notice shall read, "State law prohibits [any person] from selling, offering for sale, leasing, or offering to lease any vehicle not equipped with all emission control systems or devices in good operable condition. Violators are subject to penalties under the TCAA of up to $25,000 per violation. "https://texreg.sos.state.tx.us/public/readtac$ext.TacPage?sl=R&app=9&p_dir=&p_rloc=&p_tloc=&p_ploc=&pg=1&p_tac=&ti=30&pt=1&ch=114&rl=20#:~:text=The%20notice%20shall%20read%2C%20%22State,devices%20in%20good%20operable%20condition.
@Gene_B Hi Gene, thanks for your question. Honestly, I have no idea since Im not a dealer. Ive never had issues selling any car that was modified including my 2018 AMG E63S wagon which was purchased and went to Wyoming then to New York. I would check with your state and determine if it makes sense for you. Thank you.
@sumofall @mwren @Gene_B - I have to agree with sumofall... that regulation does not appear to apply to private sellers. Obviously everyone should perform their own due diligence/research, but its hard to imagine that ANY car with a modified exhaust has to be refitted or it cant be sold. A simple cursory search of private vehicles listed for sale in the State will show that there are HUGE numbers of cars with modified emissions systems offered for sale publicly. So either it applies only to Licensed Texas car dealers, or this is the most weakly-enforced regulation in the Lone Star State.
If I had a dollar for every auxiliary light I've turned on that was "meant for off-road use".... Maybe *dealers in Texas have issues selling non-compliant cars but this seems like a personal seller....No issues, buyers just have to do some homework depending on where the car goes.
Gene_B - I had the same question. the Armytrix web sight clearly states that the described down pipe/ cat simulator is not street legal and is only intended for race and or off road use, so I'd speculate that this is a cat delete system. Seller please confirm or correct. Seller- does stock, removed, down pipe/ cat sell w/ car?
Sorry for my ignorance, and I may not be understanding correctly but does having a "cat simulator" mean that the catalytic converter has been removed? It is illegal in the State of Texas to sell or offer for sale a vehicle that has had the emissions tampered with so hopefully that is not the case here. Can you clarify?
