ASA 16” 8-hole alloy wheels are fitted with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus tires which measure 205/26 on all four corners with 2023 date codes. The seller states the tires were installed on the new wheels by Butler Tire, Marietta and wear approximately 1,200 miles. No signs of curb rash or corrosion are visible on the wheels with the paint in good condition. New lugs were fitted to the rear because of the slightly different offset of the wheel from standard as well as four OEM Mercedes-Benz center caps. The standard self-leveling rear suspension ensures a constant ride height at the rear of the vehicle even with heavy loads in the rear of which the owner performed a fluid flush and state works as intended. The factory spare is mounted in the rear along with the original tool kit, first aid kit, and jack. Other recent services performed on the steering/suspension system are as follows:
This S124 is powered by a 3.2-liter M104 inline-six with double overhead cams and variable valve timing which is factory rated for 217 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed 722.3 automatic transmission. The seller has performed the following services in preparation for the sale:
Previous repairs include fan clutch system, regular fluid changes, neutral safety switch, ignition coils, spark plugs wires, thermostat replacement, water pump replacement, and more on the Carfax. Underbody photos have been provided by the seller and show no signs of corrosion.
A thorough underside inspection, walkaround, and driving video is shown below:

@th_boone Sounds like a nice car! I love them in silver and yeah, if you don’t know how to wrench in them you have to buy the nicest one you can or it gets expensive really fast.Congratulations to both seller and buyer, that’s an outstanding price for an outstanding car. A great moment for enthusiasts.Congrats to the new owner - great auction! My '95 e320 wagon seems so similar (silver over grey), has within 10k on the odometer than this one, and funny how I've also done head gasket, all the suspension work, not to mention *a bunch of other thing*s that I *wanted* to do because it's the right thing to do.. More financially responsible to buy one with the heavy lifting done like this one ;)...@Mallard87 I feel the same way with all the cool cars on the West Coast, especially with the super high fuel prices right now shipping is expensive. @cgrafff1 This is actually my 8th car in the fleet, so I'm sad it's going but happy I have less cars.Congrats. Great price I think but slightly over where I could justify to the wife an 8th car to the fleet.Man if I didn’t have to pay $3-4k shipping and the CA tax…someone’s gonna make me very jealous. What a battle. Congrats @lsnead39 I'm so excited for you!$18,000 bid placed by @lsnead39

@blakleyleonard Awwww thanks man. I really do try -- especially on my personal cars! For anyone who doesn't know, @stuttgart_steel is exactly the person you want to buy a car from. Whoever ends up with this beauty will be very pleased, I'm sure! All the recent service stuff aside, when's the last time you saw a S124 (that was not an AMG) in this color? Rare and classic.$12,650 bid placed by @cgrafff1
Just drove the car back from DC Motorwerks, fueled it up, and gave it a rinse. Did a systems check and a once over and she's good to go. The shop also gave it a test drive and a checkover and it has the green light. I have the car tucked away in a warehouse next to a few other W124s so it's right at home. I was talking to one of my old coworkers today who used to work at RBM Atlanta back in the day and he remembers the car and the owner who also had a S600 to pair with this S124. Just fun connecting the stories all together. With a new hours left, just want to point out a few things: - One family owned since new - New tires - New head gasket and top end reseal - New crankshaft seal - All new fluids on every single system - New brakes - New Bilsteins - Ceramic coating - New lower control arms, tie rods, center drag link, and stabilizer bar - Seat mechanism repairs - 2 keys and books Thank you to all my friends and new connections reaching out to me on this car. I have no idea who is going to end up with it with all the people I've been talking to -- some local, some far away -- so good luck and happy bidding.$12,400 bid placed by @OlyOop
UPDATE: DC Motorwerks finished the front crankshaft seal yesterday. Going to Uber up there this morning to grab the car, wash it, give it a once over, fill it with fuel, and park it in the warehouse until it gets picked up by one of you guys. One of the reasons I like selling my cars on this platform is they always go to the right home. That's important to me since it's our job to keep these cars on the road since they don't make them anymore. We're all basically foster parents to these things. @1234Corvair1 Has been sending me progress pictures of the 250SE I sold him a few weeks ago which I love. I wouldn't mind getting a picture here and there of adventures the winners takes with this car. Anyways, good luck on bidding here in the final hours. I'm here if you need me.$12,124 bid placed by @cgrafff1

With a bit more than a day left, I just want to check in on everyone and make sure I've answered all your questions. I got a lot of DMs, so if I didn't respond that means it got buried and that is not my intention. Please ask away. The car does include all of the receipts for all the parts I bought to match the long Stuttgart Steel invoice. I have a thick folder with everything I ordered. I'd be lying if I said I won't miss this car. The W124 is probably my favorite chassis Mercedes has ever built and they're a joy to work on. I'm headed out to do coil packs on my friend's 1994 E420 here in an hour and I'm excited to wrench on his. Working on these cars is the best way to appreciate their engineering and Mercedes was at their BEST with the W124. I might take out the 500E today...$10,250 bid placed by @sanni17
Quick update on the car. I noticed a few drops of oil off the front of the oil pan when I shot the undersides a few weeks ago. It looked like it was coming from the front crankshaft seal. Since it signed off on the car after the photoset, I drove the car up to DC Motorwerks for them to put eyes on the small oil leak I spotted since I wanted a second opinion. They confirmed it was just that and it's getting a new seal put in. Hoping it's buttoned up by the time the auction ends, but there's a chance it's completed a day or so after this car sells. I'll keep you all updated. But either way, the car is getting a new front crankshaft seal. Just wanted to be transparent and address an additional service the car is getting on my dime before the auction ends!@Mallard87 Thank you! It's fine in summer, but with any 124 you need recirc on and it blowing on full to keep comfortable. I remember it being like that in the late '90s with my parent's W124s in Atlanta. It's also why I kept the tint on it since that helps massively with heat reflection.Stunning wagon! How does the AC handle the Atlanta summers in heavy traffic? I’m in SoCal and have had several German 90’s daily drivers that had great AC up until the summer hit, then they required driving around with a spare shirt.$10,000 bid placed by @Dgaynor912
@OlyOop You’re absolutely not bugging me — please keep asking questions! Cruise control works. It’s always one of the first things I test since I actually use it in my cars and they’re easy to get fixed. One last question and I'll try to leave you alone: does the Cruise Control work correctly?Love the very careful walk-thru video on this one man! Nice work!! @Stuttgart_Steel@OlyOop Hey! Sorry for not responding to the PM I was getting my butt kicked by my 190E today. I don’t think a bird would have done that damage and a deer would have done WAY more damage. I bet it was a rock on the highway or some other debris that pinged it. I don’t think water can actually really get in there it isn’t THAT bad.Beautiful car! I see a dent in the passenger-side A-pillar, which I assume was caused by something like a bird or deer strike. Has any remediation been done to keep water from pooling between the seal, windshield, and metal?$8,500 bid placed by @Davidhoss
@LCFAB It makes me so happy people appreciate this car and all my work. It was a lot of effort to get it this nice. Thanks for the love so far everyone!$7,500 bid placed by @LCFAB
Diggin this wagon! Well done.@th_boone I'm such a M104 fan. With fresh mounts, at idle, the engine feels like it stalled and it's off. They they feel so good when the variable valve timing kicks in.$5,500 bid placed by @BlakeM
Was driving my '95 E320 Wagon yesterday, and going to again today for work needs. A smooth m104 makes such a great car.@Stan_Lution Sorry for the delayed responses, was busy photographing a Hammer all day today and my hands were occupied with a camera. So let me sit down and answer these and all of the PMs I got: The stance is perfect on it. It looks so good in person. @YahOsm I did no attempt to repair the wood. Send yours out to Madera Concepts for refinishment -- that's the proper way to get it repaired or find a nice piece on eBay to replace it with. @SnookBraden A R129 and a S124 is kind of a perfect two car solution. Sporty roadster and the hauler, both with Sacco lines. Can't beat it. @quickmath No problem getting you paint meter readings. I'll grab some next time I'm near the vehicle -- give me a few days -- it's at the warehouse. The whole car had been repainted in the factory color per the copy, so that's why I didn't provide paint meter readings with this one since it isn't original paint. Passenger door check stop can be adjusted for it to shut properly, but the door sticks out 2mm and I'm a freak who stares as my body panel gaps when I walk up to my car coming out from the grocery store, so I set in a liiiiiitle bit so the door is 100% flush. The door bumper stop might be worn a litte (doesn't look worn), but maybe sourcing a new one would fix it. It's so minor but I'm trying to disclose everything I didn't get around fixing so people know what they're buying. Again, I'm HARSH on my cars since I aim for OEM perfection when dialing in my personal cars. That's why it took me a year to get this ready!$5,250 bid placed by @k_brady

1. Could you provide paint thickness readings by panel? 2. What’s wrong with the passenger side door? Is it hinge wear or needs latch adjustment? Thanks!$4,500 bid placed by @SnookBraden
Two years ago I bought my first MB, a 1999 500SL, and have fallen in love with the Bruno Sacco design of these cars. As a college student in the early 90’s these were (and still are, in my opinion) the ultimate expression of a status and quality. I also happen to love wagons. This would look fantastic in the garage next to my R129$4,250 bid placed by @Kingedwards
@seller, beautiful car and nice representation. I have a 1993 S124 that has hair-line thin cracks in the center console wood, as this one. I tried to inject a brown dye into the cracks so they blend with the wood natural lines, but could not make it work. The cracks in yours seem to blend with the natural lines of the wood and do not stand out (they are brown vs. shiny/white). Did you successfully do what I tried to do? Any advice on this would be appreciated. Good luck with the sale.If I were a rich man I would have another! Tastefully lowered and ready to log some miles.$4,000 bid placed by @BD450SL

@quickmath I don’t have much as far as history goes for the SLS, so I did flush the fluid and it operates as it should. I even had a heavy set of wheels in the back and the car sat perfectly level. When SLS fails it’s VERY obvious as the rear has zero give over bumps. The rear shocks are also dry with no leaks. SLS also isn’t as scary and people make it out to be. Parts are available, affordable, and the home wrencher can easily change out accumulators and service the system. It’s robust AND simple. I’m a fan.Hello, good luck with the sale. Was SLS deleted? I don’t see much detail on their history and current state. Thanks.@Dtslost Good eye, I didn't even realize they were missing until you pointed it out since I was concentrating on other things. Looks like you can grab some on eBay if you really wanted them installed.Hey thanks for taking such amazing care of this car. Quick question. Are their seat belts for the foldable 3rd row/child seats? I do not see them in the photos.$1,750 bid placed by @lehrjet
@henryr I did all of the work on the Stuttgart Steel invoice and just billed it out as if I was working on a client’s car. @DC_Motorwerks helped me with the seat diag and the frame.which shop did all the mechanical work? DC?@gsxr Always a pleasure seeing you in my auction. I don't know what they are since they look like they've been on there for a while and are just black, but it sits perfectly. And unfortunately no records from the previous owner which is why I went overboard on the services. The CarFax luckily has a lot of the service performed on the car before I came to own it. Thanks!$1,500 bid placed by @Nick75
Looks sharp! Do you know what lowering springs were installed, and when exactly? No records from the PO? GLWS! :)Hey everyone, this is the auction of my personal S124 that I’m relinquishing from my fleet on a NO RESERVE auction! Funny story with this one: A year ago one of my friends uncovered this car from the family that owned it since new as they just really didn’t need it anymore. I did a pre-purchase inspection on it for him since he wanted to rescue the car and bring it back to its former glory (this is what he likes to do as a hobby and he’s GREAT at it). I discovered it had excellent bones but deferred maintenance as most 124s have at this point. I helped sell the car to him back in… oh, it was probably March of last year and he wanted me to do the reconditioning on it. I hit him with a quote to get it as nice as he likes his car (which is as nice as I want my own stuff), he got cold feet, so I bought it off him since we didn’t want it to go into the wrong hands. I spent the past year or so driving it and refreshing its systems one-by-one until it transformed into its current state. I put about two thousand miles on this car and really enjoyed it. It’s an EXCELLENT Atlanta car and is useful to haul stuff that doesn’t fit in a sedan. I recently added a 1994 E500 to the collection and also own a S211 E63 and a S210 E320, so this car became kind of redundant and I didn’t drive it as much as it deserved – it’s also too nice to stuff dirty wheels and old AMG parts into the back hatch. I don’t like to stash cars away to not be driven. These deserve owners that cherish and use them – it’s a Mercedes-Benz wagon after all. I did so much to the car. There’s little things I serviced that didn’t make it onto the service invoice that I probably forgot, like spending five hours cleaning the engine block with a toothbrush while I had the head off, replacing little vacuum elements I had new laying on the shelves, and correcting linkages, hose clamps, o-rings, stupid stuff like that. I service my cars to factory spec using factory books and tools and order as many parts as I can from the dealership. This was a well serviced car before I got it, but I’m a level above psycho with how I want my Sacco era cars to run. The listing is extensive and thorough, but if I missed anything please feel free to ask for additional pictures or any questions you have on your mind. I saw on the Carfax (this thing has 100 service hits which is the most I’ve EVER seen) the head gasket was done by The Benz Shop years ago and I just put a new one in back in September. There was so much oil coming from the old rotting magnesium valve cover (which was replaced with a nice one) and dripping down the block that I’m actually not sure I needed to do it, but I dumb and wanted to do the head gasket job because I think it’s fun and wanted to inspect the internals myself. This… is how I spend my free time. Thanks for looking and I suggest serious bidders watch my video from beginning to end. I go over a ton of details in there, but the copy The MB Market did was very in-depth since I provided a lot of information. Thanks and good luck bidding!
