This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL 6.0 AMG was delivered new in Japan in January of 1990 and spent some time in Dubai before moving back to Germany in October of 2016. This DOHC M117 W126 is currently presented with 75,193 km (~47k miles). Import papers from the UAE to Germany are included with the sale along with AMG certification paperwork. The car is finished in Midnight Blue (904) over Blue leather (262) and power comes from an AMG-modified 6.0L DOHC M117 V8 paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes cruise control, Becker head unit, a power sunroof, automatic climate control, and power heated front seats with a power and heated rear bench seat. Other AMG features include a full body kit including bumpers, side skirts, and spoiler, Aero I AMG wheels, Sebring exhaust, suspension, M38 steering wheel, rear wooden tray tables, door trim, shift knob, and white AMG gauges. The car is now being offered by the seller with an AMG certificate of authenticity, original AMG floor mats, importation paperwork, original manuals, CarVertical report, and a clean German title.
This 6.0 SEL is finished in Midnight Blue (904) and features paint matched lower cladding with a full AMG body kit including front and rear bumpers, rocker panel covers, side skirts, and three-piece rear decklid spoiler. Other exterior features include a sunroof with tilt function, period correct sunroof valence, headlight washer arms, glass Euro headlights, amber corner lights, and integrated foglights in the bumper. This example still sports the OEM Mercedes-Benz anodized aluminum and chrome trim throughout which shows in excellent condition. At the rear, dual chromed exhaust tips can be located under the AMG rear bumper and the three-piece ducktail spoiler is painted Midnight blue with the AMG moulded stamp shown in the plastic. The seller notes paintwork performed to eliminate small scratches and rock chips on a door, front fender, and hood. Some small defects can be located around the AMG badge in the spoiler.
Square setup 17” AMG Aero I wheels have a silver-painted face with a polished lip and sport 235/45 tires all around. The wheels appear to be in excellent condition with no rash. This W126 was fitted with four wheel ABS and SLS rear suspension. AMG springs and shocks are seen in the underbody photos.
The interior is finished in Blue leather (262) along with a matching dash and carpet. Extended burl wood accents the cabin on the center console, doors, and dash while additional wood trim pieces have been added by AMG including a shift knob, rear folding tray tables, additional door trim, and front dash speaker covers. An AMG sticker can be seen on the center console above the shift surround along with a sticker right of the glovebox. Additional amenities include cruise control, a power tilt/sliding sunroof, automatic climate control, and heated front seats with two position memory, and rear seats with both heat and power reclining function and map lights in the C-pillar. Original AMG floor mats are shown in the gallery. Some cracks are visible on the wood veneer which is documented by the seller. The trunk has a jack and a safety triangle attached to the boot lid. The original Becker headunit is still installed
The leather wrapped AMG M38 four-spoke steering wheel is made by Momo in conjunction with AMG and frames the white AMG instrumentation including a 300km/h speedometer, 7k rpm tachometer with an inset clock, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and instant economy. The odometer currently reads 75,193 km (~47k miles).
This W126 features an AMG-modified 6.0-liter DOHC 32-valve M117 V8 engine that increased engine output to approximately 385 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque and is the same engine used in the AMG Hammers. The car originally came fitted with a 5.5L V8 which AMG swapped the stock single-cam, two-valve-per-cylinder heads for its own free-breathing, twin-cam, multi-piece four-valve-per-cylinder heads. The AMG Sebring exhaust is documented in the undersides and the front lower ball joints show cracked boots. The engine bay is shown in the video and is in great shape with a clean Behr radiator, new coolant expansion tank, cadmium plating on hardware, polished air intake box, and a clean SLS reservoir. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with a Torsen limited-slip differential and a reinforced rear subframe. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
The car is now being offered by the seller with an AMG certificate of authenticity, original AMG floor mats, importation paperwork, original manuals, CarVertical report, and a clean German title.
What made the Hammer so special was all of the firewall modifications and swapping of beefier W126 parts into the W124 to support the fire-breathing 6.0 engine. The lovely thing about the W126 6.0 cars is everything just fits as it really should. This engine with this chassis is the equivalent of Cinderella's foot fitting perfectly into the glass slipper. The 560SEL 6.0 is true late ‘80s exotica as this example sports the venerable Hammer engine right before they moved into using the M117/9 hybrid engines. We love the look of this car as most AMGs had the monochrome trim and paint matched wheels. This is the gentleman’s spec SEL 6.0 with the untouched anodized aluminum and chrome trim that works so well with the Astral Silver painted Aero I wheels. The interior sports a whole forest’s worth of extra AMG wood and we’re happy to see the heated and reclining rear seats. The M38 Momo steering wheel fronting the 300-kph white AMG gauges is handsome and proper and makes this a sleeper 6.0 AMG build if we ever saw one. This is an S-Class that will rip past most modern Mercedes on the Autobahn as there is no speed limiter on this and can easily push deep into the 170-mph range in utter comfort.

Hi Could the seller please provide pictures of the AMG number stamping on the engine heads and of the current MB engine number ? Has the car been AMG certified (different from the Mercedes document shown in the documentation) ? There is a mention of a car vertical report but not provided in the pictures it seems. Also there is mention in the text of a video but it also seems to be missing ? Finally additional detailed pictures of the engine, which is the masterpiece of the car, would be nice.
