The baby Hammer as I would like to call it , just missing the 6.0 haha. Prior to my ownership the car was not driven since roughly 2009 and I have done extensive repairs to get it back to running and driving condition. @ammaraj24 it does not have an AMG Japan vin on the door. This was one of the very early conversion done so it is a possibility the vin plaque was introduced at a later time. @r129kingYes I know what it has, it is still an AMG , AMG only required you to have 3 items to be considered an AMG car which they gave a badge to. This is an AMG with no motor mods. I have a R129 6.0 AMG that will be going up for auction soon. This should be an original AMG kit even if it wasn't I wouldn't devalue it much as fitting and painting a kit will entail some decent money as well. GLWTS

I always encourage buyers to set up a pre purchase inspection which I can help arrange at my local Mercedes Dealership if you have any concerns. I can also show the car prior to auction end.
@bustosgroupit has not been tested so to answer your question no. it could be low on Freon or need a compressor that I do not know. You are more than welcome to have it inspected at the local Mercedes dealership I use.
@BabyBenzFan No paperwork , it is a pre-merger AMG car without paperwork . Mercedes Classic center has no information on these cars this has been tried many times. I have had a lot of pre-merger cars and the documentation was for the most part thrown away for most of these cars when AMG was dissolved prior to the Merger with Mercedes. Early 1985 cars weren't being copied so you can be sure this is an authentic AMG. There are a few people that have records that used to work there that only a hand full of people know about but there is no database available to anyone as of yet. In order to qualify (per AMG NA policy) for the AMG badge one had to purchase 2 exterior "optik" items. In other words - if you bought front and rear spoilers from AMG NA they would allow you to buy and install an AMG badge. So there was many AMG cars but only few AMG 6.0, AMG Hammers etc. Those were AMG performance cars. This topic has been beet to death and there are many discussions on the web. This is definitely not the only Pre-merger AMG 190e but it is one of the cleanest examples I have ever come across . The 190e AMG cars are much more difficult to come by compared to the c126 c124 and others.

@blakleyleonardsame story with my 1990 500SL 6.0 . I could not find the markings on the block and my radiator stickers were faded however I did find relays with amg logos so then I measured the stroke it took 15 min and now I can sleep soundly haha . It is much more responsive and has more torque .
@SwissBliss the seller clearly stated to send him a private message to do a ppi. If your a serious buyer call the guy and figure it out he seems to be responding and in his defense you cant find all of those decals that he has I’ve personally never seen some of them.
I have a 1990 and just measured the stroke. M119 6.0L AMG = 100mm bore - 94.8mm stroke M119 5.0L = 96.5mm bore - 85mm stroke Great looking car looking forward to the outcome glwts .

@zachmacno problem, It had smaller wheels so may have looked lower and probably when I jacked the car up to change the wheels it changed the ride height do to the bad bushings in that heigh adjustment arm.
@zachmac I have not diagnosed the ac. As far as the self leveling I just ran out to the garage and took a look at the arm that controls ride height. The plastic bushings in the little arm are deteriorated so I put in the trunk so it does not fall off. Pretty easy fix I would would have repaired if I noticed it earlier. The sls reservoir is holding fluid and if you move the lever under the car it raises and lowers the car.

The passenger seat belt presenter has been fixed and is operational. The passenger side seat has also been replaced with a fully functional one . I can also include the non operational one with the sale if the winning bidder would like .

As mentioned prior the car was sitting for some time and the car was repainted by the previous owner. The car will need to be gone through mechanically if you plan on daily driving it. However being that it sat for many years prior I wouldn't doubt the mileage is accurate. it is rust free underneath which is very hard to find when searching for an SEC . Thanks for checking it out.

Hello have the brakes been changed no record of them being done and they are pretty expensive on these cars. Also I noticed a lot of checkins stating transmission services such as the trans connector which can be problematic. I did not see any records of the air struts being replaced are they currently oem and or aftermarket. Any idea when they were last changed if at all. How does the car currently shift and are there any issues that you would address if you were to keep the car. Also aside from the rock chips and clear coat issues on the front bumper are there any other clear coat issues on the body of the car. Thank you
@sjgnychello im not near the car but when I was driving it at best I felt the ac was cool. Being its winter in Chicago and I havent driven it in warm months its hard for me to know for sure. The srs light comes on randomly on the cluster . Other than that the car has no issues . Thank you !

Hey guys I am replacing a front tire as I had a blowout today and I had the car at my mechanic and he recommend I get the radiator replaced it does not effect drivability of the car as it is a small slow leak common on these older radiators. I will include a new radiator, thermostat and upper and lower radiator hose in the sale.
@Coachmule your more than welcome to come see it . It has a clean title . There are no sign of the car being flooded that I can tell. The window and hardtop seal are dry rotted so that may have cause water or moisture to get into the cluster . Thank you for your interest.

@MRTIKKETHello the attached video will answer your wheel question and seatbelt presenter question. There are no cracks that I have seen on the wheels. There is no visible rust in the areas you mentioned. Those valve cover stickers appear to be replica stickers someone prior to me applied. Timing chain and guides I was told do not need to be done when I had the most recent work done. There are no solid lifters or engine mods that I know of. The seat belt presenters work.
One of the first owners of this car reached out to me and said he may have a bunch of records from the car when he imported it from Japan in 2005 so I can get the winner of the auction these details when I receive them.

@Youngclassicamg the exhaust is custom german company called Vogue that got bought out by Top gear and the tips are AMG style the car is almost 40 years old and I have not driven it that fast I have taken it up to 80 and it was fine there was a weep on the valve cover gasket and I took care of that rotors and pads about 50% but they are inexpensive to service under 300 for everything when replacing a bulb on the cluster I noticed the importer left a sticker that noted the speedo was replaced at 8000 kilometers. goodluck thank you !

I just checked online and people have recieved a title from the Texas dmv without a problem with a vermont registration. You can always check with your local dmv but I do not think it will be a problem.

@MBZTECH The transmission stopped engaging gears while I was driving it shortly after I bought it. The original transmission was used as a core and a fully rebuilt transmission was purchased from a company in California that specializes in those transmissions they replace all parts that fail. Fluid and filter are a must when replacing the transmission so that was done as well and flushed the transmission cooler system. Precision European was the company that replaced it 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. Hope that answers your question. Thanks and goodluck !

@BabyBenzFan No paperwork , it is a pre-merger AMG car without paperwork . Mercedes Classic center has no information on these cars this has been tried many times. I have had a lot of pre-merger cars and the documentation was for the most part thrown away for most of these cars when AMG was dissolved prior to the Merger with Mercedes. Early 1985 cars weren't being copied so you can be sure this is an authentic AMG. There are a few people that have records that used to work there that only a hand full of people know about but there is no database available to anyone as of yet. In order to qualify (per AMG NA policy) for the AMG badge one had to purchase 2 exterior "optik" items. In other words - if you bought front and rear spoilers from AMG NA they would allow you to buy and install an AMG badge. So there was many AMG cars but only few AMG 6.0, AMG Hammers etc. Those were AMG performance cars. This topic has been beet to death and there are many discussions on the web. This is definitely not the only Pre-merger AMG 190e but it is one of the cleanest examples I have ever come across . I could not find the markings on the block and my radiator stickers were faded however I did find relays with amg logos so then I measured the stroke it took 15 min and now I can sleep soundly haha . The plastic bushings in the little arm are deteriorated so I put in the trunk so it does not fall off. Pretty easy fix I would would have repaired if I noticed it earlier. As mentioned prior the car was sitting for some time and the car was repainted by the previous owner. The car will need to be gone through mechanically if you plan on daily driving it. @MBZTECH The transmission stopped engaging gears while I was driving it shortly after I bought it. The original transmission was used as a core and a fully rebuilt transmission was purchased from a company in California that specializes in those transmissions they replace all parts that fail. Fluid and filter are a must when replacing the transmission so that was done as well and flushed the transmission cooler system.
