This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC Koenig Specials is powered by a 5.0-liter M117 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in custom Dark Purple Metallic over Blue Velour (972). The car has been fitted in period with a full Koenig Specials widebody and features 3-piece BBS wheels. Equipment includes power-adjustable and heated front seats, an AMG steering wheel, Euro-spec lighting, and automatic climate control. The car was certified by TüV in Germany prior to being imported to the United States and an independent review performed in 2015. This C126 shows 193k kilometers (~120k miles) and is now offered with import records, owner's manual, a German certification from 1985 denoting the car as a Koenig Specials, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
The car is finished in custom Dark Purple Metallic and features a genuine Koenig Specials widebody kit. The kit includes extended front and rear bumpers, side skirts, widebody fenders, and a rear spoiler integrated into the trunk lid. The kit was reportedly fitted in period during the 80's and remains fully intact. The original paint color from the factory was Astral Silver and the paint job is believed to be original to when the car was built by Koenig. The current paint job features a glitter infused clear coat. Normal signs of wear are present on the vehicle including clear coat issues on the side skirts and rear driver fender along with cracks on the front passenger fender and trunk lid. The car also features a sunroof delete and Euro-spec lighting. Detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery.
The 3-piece 15″ BBS wheels are mounted with 285/40 Yokahama AV1-40 tires up front and 345/35 Pirelli P Zero tires in the rear. The tires are noted to have good tread but are dated. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. A bend in the front passenger outer lip is noted and each wheel is finished in gold with a polished lip and original BBS center caps. The car features a Koenig sport suspension designed specifically for the widebody.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in Blue velour (972) along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Woodgrain trim adorns the dash, console, and doors showing minor fading and wear. The seller notes the radio and rear shelf speakers have been removed and the AC is currently inoperative. The headliner will need to be replaced. Amenities include heated front seats, cruise control, power windows, and split rear seats.
The AMG leather-wrapped steering wheel frames the original gauge cluster including a 260kph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for instant fuel economy, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 193k kilometers (~120k miles).
The Carfax report shows one entry in June 2023 when the US title was received. This Koenig Specials SEC shows 193k kilometers (~120k miles) and is now offered with import records, owner's manual, a German certification from 1985 denoting the car as a Koenig Specials, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
Walk around footage of the car is viewable in the videos below.

I suppose it's a bit too late to ask now, but are any underbody photos available? The mileage plus the rust in the trunk make me wonder about the underside...

@6thinline9 This car drives great, didn’t notice any rattles or noises while driving. Goes up to speed very quickly and you can let go the steering wheel on the expressway at speed. Interior is very clean and has no bad odors inside. It is as described in the main write up. I’ll send some road videos to be uploaded.
Great car. A few questions for you: How does this one drive? You’ve had driving videos of other vehicles, but not this one. Does it smell like anything off putting inside? Any rattles, creaks, or strange sounds while driving from the engine or body/ interior? Thanks.

@BlueridgeMB Hey Jonathan, it is quite unusual and very effective. It can be controlled through a small pad next to the shifter. This setup + the Florida weather makes the cabin very crispy hot
Ahh, eberspacher heater instead of the "normal" webasto. Guess that's why it's installed @ such a peculiar angle relative to the others. Neat option, they often do Not work....does this one function? Thank you! Jonathan

@MBFahrer would love to say its a rocket launcher, but it's actually an additional static Eberspaecher heater for the cabin
@Jnasty its the flake, we will have a walk around video where you can see it. It shines in all kinds of colors, very 80's. Clear is aged but what you see in the photos is the reflection of the flakes
What is that massive hunk of metal in picture #101 near the air intake tube?
@germancars - is the paint failing or is that dust on the car or simply flake reflection? Hard to tell from the photos.
