@omarshareefI was trying to figure this out too. My best guess is that something was lost in translation between 1997 and current day with Carfax's coding. (The same way a mileage discrepancy on Carfax will sometimes show as "BRANDED"). My 2-cents, this looks like a fantastic driver and the color combination is rather hard to duplicate. Lots of value if you aren't looking to flip...
Looks like someone could use a Monday hug. There aren't many of these tops to go around and as the 129 becomes desirable again even less will be available for those who can afford to grab one. To say this seller is wasting time...I'd say he's here for the same reason most of us are. (It doesn't cost anything extra to be nice) @smcase good luck with the auction- you should do just fine!

A buddy of mine sent this listing to me yesterday and I saw it shared again today. Not sure what's in debate here, the color/options combination is exceptionally rare by SL standards and nearly impossible to replicate with this mileage. In my humble but experienced opinion, those seats are original to the car and look to be well-kept. Keep in mind that's after 23 years...at 1k a year that's still a lot of time. Whoever ends up with this SL won't be disappointed I'd wager.
Spent the better part of an hour going through this gallery. One of the nicest SL's I've seen in years! That leather has to feel brand new still.

@ItsThatEasyWas looking at that carfax. Definitely not the first time a dealer has transposed two numbers (Looks like the 8 and 9) but I'd bet money that was a clerical error.
Folks over at MBM are right, this is pretty much the ideal spec. Sport-check, xenons-check, heated seats-check, pano-check. Value!!

@Amine78I'm not affiliated but that looks like normal condensation build up from the exhaust. Normal and non-invasive. Just turning water to steam.
@cjaubertThe V12 cars got black seats with contrasting perforations. The V8 Silver Arrows got the two-tone you're thinking of. there were only 100 of the V12's made so this is considerably more rare.
I'll jump in the mix for this- Just love that it's almost new.
Surprising nobody's commented on the paint yet. Rare color and looks like it's in fantastic condition. If I were in the market for a 107, I'd be all over this. Good luck to the seller!

@MBFahrerKeep looking, this is what AMG offered for the M120 cars. (Updated AMG air intakes showing AMG part numbers, AMG mapping, and AMG exhaust). That pretty much constitutes a V12 AMG car.

You have to appreciate all the fun, vibrant colors offered on the first gen SLK. Yellowstone was great, I even remember a Purple over Yellowstone interior car in Europe!

@Static50As a long time owner of cars with ADS and ABC I can say the system is much stronger than most give it credit for and judging by these records I can see an ABC reservoir and some hoses got replaced at one point. Safe to say I'd feel ok about this car just seeing how money was spent on it in previous ownership. My humble opinion may not be the authority but it takes an enthusiast to commit to one of these cars long term and it certainly seems like it's been loved. GLWTA @lanbo

@Benzhead 110 percent agreed! I've had several and no matter the year, engine, or iteration, records are everything. I've spent 10k on cars like this that come with complete documentation and never worried about a cent more. Other I've probably "overspent" with no records and they always end up being a nightmare. I'm sure anyone who's owned a 129 has similar stories on either side.
