BlueridgeMB bid $1,320
....what I get for driving to FL while auctions end:-/
Congrats @w124 she should be a Rip!
I like to do bolt JIC simply because the cost Before failure is under half of what it costs post.. That and it's nice to not have to Worry about it.
Tappets can be purchased direct from INA very reasonably..but if you like trick bits the DLC coated M159/black series tappets are spiffy.
While doing bolt it's the perfect time to update the breather to the latest and greatest..as well as inspect the magnesium intake for any metal degredation issues etc.. If you have the Time available, taking said intake apaprt and getting it freshly ceramic coated will Greatly increase the life of all the metal/static bits.
These are Awesome cars, we take care of two here in the shop.. I Will say the S comes with a very docile factory tune and they Really wake up when the ME is re-flashed...that and nothing sounds better then an uncorked M156/59!
These are the same brakes that was on one of my W124 E60's, so I'd say they were perhaps making the switch sooner then otherwise expected...
At the same time my Renntech SL72 has the Alcons and it was built in 95... Much like AMG I imagine some of the builds boiled down to What was available Right Now.
GLWTA, cool car..I'm sure she's a rip!
these GT's are spectacular. I know most everyone goes all Silly of P-cars but I'd take this over that 1000X over. Time capsule of a GT. I Do hope her next care taker takes her out and Runs, that's what these girls need!
this is a Beautiful colour in person. Interior has aged very well especially for a colour which typically Does Not! Some time with a Rupes Nano would make the already gorgeous wood on this car utterly Pop to a whole other level.
...Even the external anadized trim is still black....confirms she never spent much time outside in the sun.
113's are a little down on personality compared with the 119, but the reliability and ease of ownership is hard to beat...one of the Easiest engines to service an M113 in an R129.
This is an Awesome car for someone that will wants to get lost in the minutia of Inch Perfect.
All the bones are there and they're Strong. Spending evenings/mornings with beverage of choice Qtips and microfibers will be most rewarding.
One tidbit for who ever her next caretaker is, M103's run a Lot of seat/spring pressure in their drive train. A 20/50 with the zinc and phosphate levels of Old will help keep all the internal bits happy. For us, we use Brad Penn Racing with excellent results here in the shop.
Still stealing it in plain sight monies this!
yall are SO Close!
@MSerpeNope...just mail it in....It's Easy...;-)
@ProdigalPetrolHead You can always go the Vermont route, even Easier then Montana..no shell corp required, cars old enough will only require a bill of sale, some taxes paid via check and a couple of forms. Keep your title and get a VT licence plate and reg back...:)
Looks like Paul is the Lucky fellow today, Congrats @paulmarianetti !
Fine day for a Widebody!
Ah, the paint metering of the wide body...an excercise mired in mild futility....but thanks for the Effort;-) FWIW, these are Always thick, when the flares are added Smoothing is required and that's always done with bondo. The WB SEC's are typically fatter...and the smoothed in duck tail 124's we have seen readings over 100 mil.
Exciting day, will be Watching...would have loved to give this one a full and thorough Sorting, see how she runs against my 3.4 with a stick!
Finally getting some Attention...!:)
well this is still Silly cheap for what she is/exclusivity factor!
Fish with the Score...Very cool truck for Not very much $$! Well Bought: :) Congrats.
Thrilled to hear the original airbox was not lost! The dual intake box is Very much an AMG period piece...even with the dryer vent hose feeding it:-P
@selski I can't imagine it's any worse then making long since NLA parts for Pre-Merger AMG's...! In many cases Improvements can be made after 20 years of R&D is applied...;-)
Easy 300+K mile car with reasonable maintenance....killing M112's and 722.6's take a spectacular amount of neglect!
My S320 has rolled over 300K, these are Spectacular daily drivers...and the Best colour to boot!
She came through Garage Current...That's awesome. The OG seller of spectacular Pre-Merger cars in Japan...I know I've got a calender or two of theirs here at the shop.
That CIS-E M104 is an Angry little runner especially once you get them on the pipe/over 4K... These present their power in a far more Engageing manner vs the later LH/ME 3.6L AMG Engines.
Euro only/Common AMG mod oil cooler and the .5 trans will make high speed Runs all the more reliable And enjoyable!
...do wish she had a proper muffler, rasp is fun for an afternoon but I'm not 17 any more.
Would have loved to know what drivers are in place to go w/ the Denon HU, copper chassis proper SQ unit.
GLWA, she's a Looker...!
